This is coleybean's Pink Wedding!

so we are going to have brown and pink cupcakes set up on tiers in a cake shape.
believe it or not- I wanted to forget about the whole cutting the cake thing in general but the FH insisted we not.

I decided to make my own centerpieces. I noticed that I kept gravitating towards the branch ones.
As luck would turn out, my mom and I had recently discussed where I should get the branches for my project... then she called a couple of days later to tell me that one of the huge trees in her yard had taken a pretty bad beating and that the wind had cracked it in half. Bad for tree- good for me.
After collecting the branches I loaded them in the trunk of my Jetta, what a sight that was. I then went and bought terracotta pots at Lowes which I spray painted chocolate brown. I also picked up some floral styrofoam, floral wire and QuickCrete.
Then we got to work. I put the styrofoam in the bottom of the pots and stuck my branches in where I wanted. After that I secured everything with the floral wire. Then we mixed up the QuickCrete and poured it in the pots.
That's it!!!
They look great.
I have also made hanging "votives" which I will put candles in and hang from the branches.
