Bridesmaids
Does anyone have a bridesmaid from hell or somewhere along the lines of it?? I've got one and I never knew until she became my bridesmaid. She's always telling me what to do and trying to control everything. We'll call her, Sheila. Well, Sheila has always been the competitive type and always gets jealous because someone always 1-ups her in stuff. Like for example, I got proposed to on my 20th birthday last year and my ring weighs a total of 1.50 carats. So after that happened, she started to look at rings that would look extremely gaudy on her finger such as a 3 carat ring which I think is quite unnecessary. Anyways, she has informed me that I have been doing things last minute. Well not things but everything even though I only have flowers, paying off the reception, and finishing up alterations left. If you ask me, that doesn't seem much at all. Nor does it seem last minute because I decided to go from silk flowers to actual flowers for the girls. So even if I was to do flowers now, what are the chances of them surviving until August 30th!? Exactly. Sigh. Let alone, Sheila is getting married sometime in the upcoming 2 years or less. So why is she so worried about MY BIG DAY when she should worry about how HER BIG DAY would look.
Yes, I've been quite lazy in getting things done but from buying the wedding dress to finalizing colors, I must say that I have gotten a lot done already. Do I regret making Sheila my bridesmaid? At most times yes but what can I do now except to just wait it out until the 30th of August. I found this link when I googled, "bridesmaid from hell", and this is what popped up. I really hope this doesn't happen at my wedding or else I am going to slap the living crap out of Sheila. http://www.femail.com.au/bridesmaidfromhell.htm P.S. I completely forgot I had this wedding blog until I looked through my Gmail. :X I'm really bad on blogs. |

Flowers
They're just so expensive!!
I went to my second choice for a florist today. They aren't as expensive as the first one I went to but I have an aunt who use to do flowers. So I'm just going to just use the .. grand?? I saved up for flowers towards something I can make, contribute to, and put meaning into it. There are just limited amounts of color you can do with Alfred Angelo's Pool Blue but I finally stuck to a color and it's going to be peach..I hope. I think? I am so indecisive that I finalized the bridesmaids dress colors last month! -_- I'm going to do handtied bouquets and they're all going to be roses. I wanted to do all calla lilies but they're not in my budget.
Speaking of lilies, has anyone seen a photo of the Royal Sunset Lily? They are absolutely gorgeous. I am asking for those for my 21st birthday. :) Hopefully I get them...hopefully. |

Did everyone else do things last minute?
I didn't find this website until I was googling peach and coral roses and saw it on someone's blog. So this is a last minute blog even though I have a Blogger. No one reads that anyways.
So I feel like I'm being absolutely ridiculous by doing everything so last minute such as not having a florist yet?! I was thinking about doing the flowers myself but I still want to get an ideal estimate on what they will cost. I'm doing all roses. I ideally wanted to do calla lilies but they're out of my budget and we're broke anyhow. Okay, not broke as in no jobs broke but just wisely using the money. We just found out videographer yesterday night...good grief! I ideally didn't want a videographer because who's going to watch the video after the wedding? I definitely am NOT going to be watching it but I figured I should for my relatives back in Vietnam and Chris' relatives back in the Philippines. Here are the things I haven't done yet: - Find a florist or actually find flowers - Order wedding favors - Alterations - Bridesmaids gifts - Bridal shower - Bachelorette party - Picking out the menu for the reception - Found my evening gown - Find a hair stylist There might be some other small things but I can't think of it right now. Actually, you can scratch the bridal shower and bachelorette party. Even though my sister offered to throw me a bridal shower, there's no point or to me there's no point. I definitely don't want a bachlorette party but if one is thrown in my honor, I just want a nice quiet evening to just sit, relax, and catch up with my bridesmaids. Does anyone else feel this way as well? By the way, I'm turning 21 here in a couple of weeks and my fiance just turned 25. We also have a son who is 18 months which is why I considered not doing anything as far as "going out and partying it up" for my showers. I just want to relax for once. :) |
