DIY Save the Dates
I'm going to try this. Just haven't figured out the design yet.
How to Make Your Own Save the Date Magnets By artsgirl, eHow Editor Save the date magnets are great ways for you to inform people of your special occasion and when it will be so they can mark the date on their calendars. Magnets are easy because they can simply be put on a fridge or other surface and your guests can look at you daily and be sure to remember your special day coming up! Instructions Difficulty: Moderately Easy Things Youll Need: * magnetic strips * scissors * craft glue * printer * computer * decorative items Step1 Open a design software program on your computer. Set the design area to the size of your magnetic strips. This may be 3"x4" or 4"x5" or any other size. Step2 Import a photo or several photos into the program. Arrange these photos into an attractive design. Add in block designs, squiggles, dots or other design elements. Step3 Type in the important text. Choose a font that is neat and easy to read. Type in the date of the special occasion, the names of those involved and any other pertinent information. You can add the location, a message such as "formal invitation to follow," "save the date," or "check out our website at www......" Bold the date and names of those involved. \Step4 Print these out on a heavy paper like a cardstock or other similar material. Cut out the design with scissors or a paper cutter to straighter edges. Step5 Glue the cardstock design to a magnetic strip. Add any supplementary design items you would like such as feathers, cut-outs, emblems and more. That's it! Just mail them out and you're set. |

Invitations- Suggestions?
I saw this design and really liked it. I haven't decided my design yet but will update this posting later when I have more ideas.
Most likely this will just be my inspiration and I will create something less complicated/costly. Does anyone have any suggestions for invitations? I was thinking about making a few very classy ones to save as momentos and give to parents/grandparents but giving everyone else low-cost, quality ones I do myself or order. Do you know of any websites with fair prices? Thanks! |

Guestbook and Cake Table
Some ideas.... still working on it.
I was thinking I could make the card box on my own- maybe put some red flowers on top. Same with the MR and MRS sign... should be easy. The cake and cupcakes should be cheap... I'm just worried about how much the cake trays will cost. I know you can find the wedding cake fountain at Wal-Mart for about $30 I think. I'm not sure where but I want to place a memorial of my grandma and grandpa. Do you think it should be on the guestbook table or somewhere else at the reception site? |

Tuxedos
I thought the colors could be chocolate brown with gold vest and red corsage. I like this style of tux, it looks sophisticated.

Table Decorations
I liked these ideas for centerpieces or table decorations. I don't know how possible it would be to throw some of these together.
I like tall center peices but believe this might be too costly. I have 14 or 15 tables, plus the head table. Maybe I could find the ostrich feathers for cheap on ebay? I am thinking of only making two of these to put on the head table. (Well I discussed it over with my fiance and he doesn't really like the ostrich feathers but we are working on other ideas, including (the theme of romance in mind) a wine and fruit/ bread/chocolate DIY basket, message in a bottle, etc. What is your opinion, does each table have to have the same centerpiece? Or can they be different if based on the same theme? |

Aisle Decorations
I want lots and lots of rose petals. I am not sure if I will have an aisle runner. I heard they bunch up and are more of a pain than beautiful addition to the wedding.

Bridal Party Attire: Wedding Shower/Ceremony
This was my inspiration for the color choice. Possibly dresses will be gold instead.

Help!
Lost
When I first found this website, I instantly fell in love. It has given me SO many ideas!! I am sticking to a tight budget but want to make the wedding classy, sophisticated, and romantic. I started this blog to gather and sort out all my ideas.
This is what I was thinking for colors. Bride's Dress- White (red flowers) Bridesmaid dresses- Gold or brown, gold shoes and jewelry (red flowers) Groom/sman- Dark brown tux with gold accents Decorations- White lights, white pew bows with red flowers The collage picture I will use as inspiration. My fiance and I were just discussing the wedding theme and decided on "A Modern Day Romance." Other themes were "Hollywood Romance" "What Glitters is Gold" or "A Journey Together" (travel-themed). He wants something relaxed and down-to-earth and is a romantic at heart so "A Modern Day Romance" or possibly "A Taste of Romance" (focusing on more of a chocolate or dessert theme) has won out. |
