Too many Seperations

Hey girl, don't lose hope! I know it's hard to see couples who have inspired your relationship show cracks in what you saw as beautiful and perfect. But try to see this as evidence that everyone has flaws and that we can learn from the mistakes and missteps of others. Sometimes separations are really helpful for making people realize what they truly have and how blessed they are. Just keep communication open and keep your friends in your thoughts. Love can overcome any hardship =)

Thank you so much for these words.  It is just amazing to me how much people get along until they are married and then things fall apart.... But then again my life and marriage is not a bowl of ice cream, so I do see where it gets hard to keep a great attitude... I know you have to put in way more than 100% in a marriage...just the same as when we were engaged but you have a lot more to lose when you are married.  Oh by the way thanks for posting something on my blog....It gets lonely when you are writing about vow renewals and everyone else is writing about taking the big step!!!!

I totally understand how you feel. I appreciate you commenting on my post, too. Sometimes I feel a little out of place because (as I'm sure you've experienced) people who are taking the 'big step' sometimes get really caught up in a lot of details that can be fun, but can also cause a lot of stress and in the end, are not necessary. I was really upset for a while about not having the wedding of my dreams. But you know, for us (and probably for you guys too) the wedding we did have made us see so clearly that it is not about the dress or the cake or the catering company or even the music...it's about the love you have for each other and the promises you are making. That's why I am trying to simplify our vision - we want our church wedding to be elegant and an absolute blast for everyone invited. We (like you two) have been through SOOO much, that we want to really celebrate!! So I'm making a serious effort not to sweat the small stuff and to have fun planning our renewal! It's good to have met you and I will definitely be adding you to my fave brides so we can stay in touch!
