Invitation Inspiration
I found this diy wedding invitation and I really like it. It has inspired me to save the money that I was going to spend on ordering printed invitations and try and do them myself. If I keep them simple like this design than I think that they should turn out okay. I'm going to start watching for sales on cardstock and a paper punch. I'm also going to try and make the envelopes too. I've been reading some articles online and it seems fairly easy to do.
I found these invitations here- http://2000dollarwedding.com/2009/06/guest-column-diy-wedding-invitations.html |

Simple Decor
My plan is to keep the decorations to a minimum and on the simple side since we're having a casual outdoor wedding. I'm thinking tissue paper pom-poms, paper doillies and white twinkle lights. We are going to be getting married at a park pavillion so I can't do much decorating anyway.

Groom Attire
Jeans! :)
Yes I'm going to have the groom wear jeans for the wedding! It will fit in perfectly with our casual, laid back, outdoor wedding and I also want everyone to be as comfortable as possible so jeans are pretty ideal. I like the idea of doing vests too because I do think that it dresses everything up a little bit so I'm going to have to try and find one. I really like the type of vest that is in the picture here.

Wedding Flowers
I decided on what I want to do for my flowers - sunflowers! I really like them and I think that they would fit our theme perfectly!! I also like the idea of adding in some red roses too but I'll have to see how they look together first.

Upcycled jar decorations
I found this adorable idea online and I thought that something like this might be perfect for our casual country themed wedding. It's simple and rustic and I think that it has a casual style. I might try and make something like this to use as decorations at our wedding. I guess I should start saving my jars!

Take a Bough Programs
I found this cute wedding program idea at marthastewartweddings.com. I printed out a copy of it and I'm planning on using it in our programs.
Here is the description from the website- Branch out beyond typical wedding programs by adding a touch of Druid fun and whimsy to them. "What Tree Did You Fall From?," a Celtic version of astrology, is the perfect distraction for those awaiting the Wedding March. Find your birthday and its corresponding tree; see if the personality traits listed match yours. If you're an apple tree (December 23 to 31), are you flirtatious, adventurous, always in love? If you're a fir (July 5 to 14), are you sophisticated, moody, industrious? Let guests read up -- and let the conversations bloom. The page- http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/goodthings/take-a-bough I think that it will fit in nicely with our simple country wedding. I love Martha Stewart Weddings! I'll have to see what other goodies I can find there! :D |

DIY Wedding
Hi ladies! I'm so happy that I found this site. It seems much nicer than some other sites that I've visited and I've already seen some great ideas here that I might use for my wedding.
My wedding is going to be outdoors. It will be a casual and laid back country wedding with lots of diy! I have a lot to do and it seems a little overwhelming at times. I guess that the best thing to do is to jump right into planning. So let the planning begin! |
