My dad is going to marry us....
Do you girls think it is dumb that my dad is going to marry us?
My dad is an ordained minister and he preaches at two churches, and is GREAT at what he does...But the minute I told my sister he was going to marry us she was like, "Why would you want him to do that?"...Ugh...IDK why she would say that, unless she is just jealous? I haven't a clue....
I am honored to have him marry us...And I know he feels the same way! My dad and I weren't on the same page when I was living at home...But now, I talk to him daily and go to him when I need advice or just want to share something exciting to someone. Definately a big daddy's girl now!
Is it weird that he will be walking me down the aisle then doing the ceremony? People are going to be like, "What is going on?!" For those on my fiance's side of the family that don't know that he is a preacher...
At any rate...Opinions please!

I think its going to be sweet. I wouldn't be freaked out at all.

I don't know the shade of gloss. My makeup artist has her own line of makeup...and she made that color for me when she was doing my makeup. We called it Tita Von Teese. (My very close friends and family call me Tita..which was first Martita...from my name Marta)

I wouldn't feel uncomfortable at all.  It is an honor to have your dad marry you.  It's already special to have your dad walk you down the aisle, but what a pleasure it would be to have him marry you!  Don't worry about your sister's comment.  Sometimes people blurt things out without really thinking about how they sound.

i dont think its dumb at all! my FI's father is also marrying us and he just married my FI's brother this past weekend. He walked down in the family processional and then took his place and the ceremony went very smoothly. I think having him marry you will make the ceremony even more special (not that it wont be already). Its what you and your FI want - go for it.

I agree w/ the ladies ... It is a honor for your Dad to marry you and give you away.... My uncle is gving me away because my Dad is deceased...I would love for my Dad to give me away and Marry me WOW!!!!

Alot of times people don't understand all weddings don't have to be the same ... ....

It isn't your sister's wedding, it's yours -- so to hell with what she thinks!

Ashlee Simpson's father is a minister and he performed her wedding ceremony on Saturday night.
