Only going to post a few. I look awful in them. It was like 100 degrees out and we were hiking all over the damn place to take pics. I was sweating like a mad beast monkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How have all of you been? Gosh, I bet half of you are already married. I have been SUPER busy!

Apparently mine is in 44 days. Yikes. We have TONS to do! Joy oh joy! We JUST ordered our invites the other night. :-S Eek, I know. I'm such a slacker!!!

My bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, and the whole wedding party are wearing/carrying roses.... Now I bought all my centerpiece stuff and the flowers for that are not roses. Is this tacky? That they don't match the flowers we are wearing/carrying....

Are your girls' centerpieces (that are flower themed) the same as the flowers in your wedding party? I'd hate to have to change my centerpices...I just don't want things to look silly...

What do you think?

I don't think we are going to have a cake topper....Anyone else not having one? I just can't find one that I like. That and we are having a bunch of roses on the top of the cake so IDK what would even look good with that! I honestly think it will look cheesy on a really classy looking cake...? Things should not be this hard! Hah!

Any ideas? Or just no cake topper?

And when do you have them? Is it the weekend before the wedding typically? Who plans it? I can't remember if the MOH is suppose to or not...? My MOH lives an hour away so I think I may plan it because I know what I want to do, sort of.

I think we are going to go out to eat, go to a comedy club for a show, and thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn IDK what else. Haha. We're not big drinkers so we won't be bar hopping or anything. I can't get drunk either....It literally takes me a few days to recover from getting drunk. Bleh.

Once again I thought we were going to be spending TONS and TONS of money on something and we are comming out WAY ahead! We were going to have a gal from church make our cake (she does weddings) but we decided not to. We met with a gal yesterday and we are meeting with another gal tomorrow to cake test!
Well, the gal we met with yesterday gave us a quote and we are looking at like 350-400ish for our cake. It is like 2.35 or something like that per slice and we are getting a 136(ish, can't remember exactly) pieces out of a 3 tier cake.
We were going to go with some wild flavor, but after trying her almond vanilla and chocolate cake...HOLY COW! SOLDDDDDDDDDD! Haha. We are giong to try the other gals cake tomorrow and see if it is better, which I can't believe how it could be, but who doesn't want to go try some free cake?!?!
The gal we met with gave us two plate fulls of cake! YUMM! She kept commenting that we are planning way ahead....Anyone else getting this comments!?! We got a comment from the tuxedo place as well that we are planning way far in advance....The wedding is like 3 months away and I thought we were behind! PHEW!
Anywho....So we are figuring 350-400 for the cake plus we have to buy TONS of roses for the cake..who KNOWS how much that will cost. I think it is like 4 dollars per rose. Eww. Going to add up in a hurry!
How much are you girls spending? And what kind of cake are you getting?
I guess the almond vanilla and chocolate goes with our 'black and white' theme. Each tier is going to be half and half. LIke stacked wise. Chocolate on bottom and vanilla on top for each tier. So kinda like marble, but not mixed. Yummmmmmmy!

I have been waiting and waiting for these darn covers forever I swear. Okay okay...Like less than 2 weeksish...But still! We bought the chair covers and ties off ebay and they came in today and I put it on a chair that we had with the bow and I think they look great! They will obviously will look better on the hotel chairs (which they were made for) and not the chairs we have. But I got to get a rough idea of what they will look like all put together. After everything gets pressed it's going to look even better! My future MIL offered to iron all 100 covers and ties. Glad that is one less thing for me to do!

I picked his ring out last week and we finally had time to run out last Saturday and get wedding stuff taken care of and we got his ring!

I wanted something with a few smalllll diamonds in it but he said no. :-( So this was the next best thing I could find. He's a pretty plain guy and didn't want anything flashy...(BOO) I guess my ring will make up for what his lacks ;-P Anywho! I LOVE it and can't wait to pop that puppy on his finger for GOOD! :-D

It is a high polished 14k White Gold 6mm band...For 600 bucks (+ tax and gold warranty) Not sure if that is a good price or not? Seemed like a little much for how plain it is...But what do I know!

I went and picked out all my flowers yesterday, but didn't order. (We have to order our cake and see how many flowers we need for that before we can order) And I was browsing pics of rose bouquets and ran across a lily bouquet.....

Which do you girls like better? I posted a pic of each. A lily bouqet or rose bouqet?!?! I almost think the lily looks more 'lively', but the rose looks more 'classy'....

So I have heard HORROR stories of how much money people spend on flowers!!! My fiance and I went to two different flower shops today and were thinking that we would EASILY spend close to, if not, 1000 bucks. The highest quote we got was 400 bucks!!!! The other was 350.

We are getting:
1- Bridal bouquet- All roses and some greenery
4- Bridesmaid bouquets- All roses and some greenery
10- Boutonnieres for fiance, groomsmen, dads, g'pa, and ushers
2- Boutine for the ring bearers
2- corsage things for the mothers

I think we made out VERY WELL! We still have to go order our cake on Thursday and we would like flowers for the cake as well....But seroiusly, I was super impressed. I thought roses would be outragious. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need some advice.......

Is there any advice you girls can give me for when we go to look at flowers tomorrow? Or do you just go and go with the flow!?!?

Are you guys having the wedding party ONLY (bridesmaid, groomsmen, grandparents, parents, flower girl, ring bearer, usher, those kind of people) or are you having them and their spouses/significant others as well? I'm not trying to be rude....But I don't want evertyone to bring their spouse along...Is that bad? I want people to see the wedding the day of, besides wedding party of course. (For rehearsal reasons...obviously! Haha) Duh on me...Anyway... We are just going to tell everyone that it is wedding party ONLY....Is that rude? How are you girls doing this? I don't want to offend anyone...But I also don't want people there for no reason either ya know?

I'm sure all of you girls remember your first date!!!! What did you guys do? We went out to eat at Olive Garden, went bowling, and then shot some pool. I remember it like it was yesterday!!! Wayne was SO nervous! It was the first time we'd ever met! He brought me a flower and was so scared to give it to me he left it in his truck! We just stared at each other all night. I don't think I knew it then, but looking back I knew he was the one. (Was hoping so anyway! ;-P) I remember a lot of staring and smiling that night. I remember him dropping the bowling ball behind him and turning around and his face was as red as a lobster! Haha... Then the hug goodnight...Aww. He was such a gentleman! I had NEVER dated a guy that opened car doors for me, bought me flowers all the time, text me sweet nothings all day. Wayne bought me flowers every single time we went out! No joke.... For like 5 months straight! The first date was one flower, second was two, third was three, etc, then it was just bouquets after that. (The Flowerama ladies knew his name!) He ALWAYS opened his truck door for me and shut it behind me. Oh those were the days! Then we got prego! Then there was no flowers....Lol! Money had better places to go ;-) He opened the door for me till we had our son. Now someone has to carry him! Haha. Ahhhhhhhh! He didn't ask me to 'be his girlfriend' till a week later. We went out to eat and to a movie and sat in his truck for like FOUR hours just talking...An hour of that was spent with him trying to find the courage to ask me to 'date him, and ONLY him!' Haha...He wanted to make sure I was all his. It was SO sweet! We took me home and walked me to the door and we kissed goodbye....After we kissed he RAN OFF! Like literally hustled to his truck and left. I was like...Uhhh!??! He's SOOOOOOOO bashful it is awful! Lol. He still is too!!!! I love it! Don't you girls LOVE to think about when you first fell in love!??!

Are ya'll having a bridal shower? I don't even know what they are and why people have them! Never knew that people had them. So obviously I've never been to one.... What is the idea? Just like a baby shower? You get gifts from family/friends? Is that so they don't have to bring gifts to the wedding? Or do they do both?

For those of you that may or may not have kids.....How long are you girls waiting to have another/your first after getting married? We have a son who is 6 months old and we are planning on having another next year around June or so when I am wrapping up my nursing degree. I'm pretty excited to have another and be DONE with it!!!! Anyone else already planning when they are going to have kids/more kids!?! Or am I the only crazy one here ;-P

What kind of cake are ya'll having??? I know who is doing my cake, but have NO clue what kind to have! What are the usual options? Anything possible? Anyone doing more than one kind? I can't wait to go try different flavors!! :-D Yummmmmmmmm!!! Sorry if this made anyone hungry! ;-P

Are you girls going to keep your wedding dress after your wedding or are you going to sell it?

I think I am going to have all yellow roses! I think.... IDK... I honestly don't know much about flowers and what colors they come in. So I guess after I make it to a floral shop I will see what I like best. Are roses the most expensive flower? If they are...exnay on that eh! I honestly don't want to spend a billion dollars on flowers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes!

Are you girls getting a videographer? We keep saying we are but have yet to call anyone. Hah. I don't know how long we are going to get one for.... I know I want one for the ceremony....And I suppose we will probably just get one for everything....As far as ceremony, reception arrival, cake cutting, first dance...That sort of thing. Or are you guys going to have a family friend or someone tape? I was thinking about doing that instead.... I don't want some fancy smancy DVD in the end...And I think that's what your really paying for when you hire someone. But then again....It's our BIG DAY and we're going all out on everything else...Hmmmmmmmmmm! What do ya think!?

Not wedding related...but... Are any of you from the midwest getting major flooding?? More than 7 cities in Iowa have mandatory evacuations. Some the whole town, others just parts of them. It is super scary! We are only a handfull of blocks away from mandatory evacuation!!! It took my fiance 45 mins to drive home when it usually takes 12 mins! And it took him over an hour to get to work this morning!!!!!! Bridges, houses, roads, cars....all getting washed away. It is devestating. Not to mention a a few tornados have ripped through around here destroying towns and taking lives. :-( So depressing. I hope none of you girls are having to put up with this crazy weather! and I hope ya'll are safe!

So I bought two veils....A long beaded one and a blush veil. Well I bought them when I bought my dress (along with the jewelry) because I felt pressured and gave in.

Well, anytime I try on the longer veil it seems too heavy! Like it just lays straight and looks LAME! I was thining about maybe just wearing the blush veil in the back? IDK... I just cant seem to get the bigger veil to work for me.

I really love the way veils look though! Are you ladies wearing a veil? Or two? Do you think blush veils are oldschool?

Anyone not seeing fiance after the rehesal dinner? The next time you would see them is walking down the aisle? My sister mentioned this to me...But I think we are getting pictures taken before the ceremony starts. I want to get pics with everyone while I still have my face on! Haha.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a hotel room with my sisters, just to spend my last 'single' night with them and have a night of fun. But I'm still pretty sure that all the wedding party and family pictures will be taken before the ceremony actually starts...We are also doing pictures of the wedding party after the ceremony outside somewhere before we head to the reception site.

We just bought 100 polyester/satin chair covers and 100 satin sashes to tie a bow or whatever we choose onto the chairs for the reception.... 600 freaking dollars! It was like 300 to rent plus tax so we decided that we would just buy them and sell them on ebay after the wedding. Anyone else doing this??? I cringed when my fiance hit 'Buy Now'. Yikes. I guess the bright side is we can just turn around and sell them and get close to what we paid for them.
The way I figure....At absolute worse we'd be paying like 175 bucks in the end instead of 300 to rent. So I guess all the savings add up in the end!

For you girls taht are having chair covers and sashes....Are you tying them in bows? Or having them like the picture I have...Or what are you doing? I think we are going to play around with it when we get them to see what we like best! The sashes we got have wire in them as compared to "other lower-grade sashes that come without the wire edges and simply hang loose, not giving their best appearance!" That's what the page said.

So I am confused....
I feel kinda silly asking this but, why do people have aisle runners? Are they personal preference? What is the meaning behind them? I was going through a 'checklist' and saw it on there....

Ladiessssssssssssss!!!

This is for all of you that don't have ceremony music already. I searched and searched and couldn't find anything that I really liked. It was becoming such a head ache... I happened to run across a website of a guy that plays piano and I loved what I heard, so I emailed his manager (which is his wife) and just asked if there was any way she could make me a copy of some of the songs on his page.
I didn't expect much. The guy plays piano and his wife plays the violin and they play at actual weddings and events. Only problem is they are from Georgia! They just had sample music on their website for potential customers. Well she emailed me back and said she was pleasantly surprised that someone wanted a CD of their music, said no one had ever emailed her with a request for a CD before. They sell a CD, but not wedding music.
La de da de da....She helped me coordinate all the music and was really helpful. She charged me 10 bucks for the CD and she mailed it first class the day I paid through Paypal.
Soooooooooo! If you girls like the sound of piano and violin together let me know and I will give you the gals email address and webpages so you can listen to their stuff! I asked her if she would be interested in making more wedding CD's and she said she would!
I posted a few pics of the CD she made for me. I had NO idea she was going to do what she did. It was really sweet! :-) Oh and the other nice thing about it is that all of the ceremony music won't be TOTALLY different for every song. It will be played by the same instruments and have a nice flow!

I was curious how all of your girls fiances' got along with you dad!? Good? Bad?

My dad and fiance get along GREAT!!!! Every week they work out in the yard together and we grill out. My dad's opinion of who I am with means a lot to me and I'm so glad he loves my fiance! I couldn't ask for more!!!!

We are leaning towards the first one at this point....We would probably be tying a yellow ribbon on the top instead of the black, depending on how it looked.

I am SO fed up with them it is rediculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They can't seem to get ANYTHING right and it is just SO frusteratingggggg!!!

*Sigh* I spent like an hour on the phone with them today. Long story majorly short..... All 4 of my bridesmaids got fitted for their dresses...2/4 never had their sizes put into the computer due to lame bridal consultants. SO they couldn't order their dresses today. Oh I was PISSED off! After lots of being put on hold and what not with a manager I finally told her that I wanted ALL of my bridesmaids to get free stuff (50 dollars worth of accessories) for the dress. After being put on hold for a bit she finally got back on and said that's fine. I told her I wanted a reason from them to keep my buisness! My girls drove 45-60 miles paying almost 4 bucks a gallon to get sized for these dreses and for what!??! To come back again!?! What a joke! So la de daaaaaa! In the end we got a good deal but what a freakin joke. As if I wasn't stressed enough! I'm so glad this day is OVER already!

I hope none of you ladies have issues like this!!!!!
