This card box was not easy. But I think it turned out really nice. The chandelier is an operable LED light. I put the battery pack inside the boxes to hide it. You can't tell from this picture, but it is lit. I used cabinet knobs for the feet on the bottom of the box.
It's my colors exactly!
I see this becoming a trend....
Bravo...Wonderful job! Just wonderful!

Unfortunately, my mom lives in Virginia, which is where I'm from, and I live in Alabama now with my fiance, which is where he's from...so it's pretty hard for her to be involved in every single step of the wedding planning process, but she's definitely still there to support me because we talk at least 30 mins. to an hour everyday!! Unfortunately, she also just had shoulder surgery for a rotator cuff tear she had in her right shoulder, so she wouldn't be able to help with all of my DIY projects even if we did live in the same state!! Keep up the amazing work...I can't wait to see more pics of your beautiful creations and also pics from your daughter's wedding day!! ;-)
Awesome job, super kick ass :)
The two square boxes on the bottom I got from Home Goods. They were paisley fabric covered boxes, but I like the detail on the lids so I got them.
The round box I got a Michaels. It wasn't fabric covered, but one of those paper mache type boxes, but it didn't matter since I knew I could cover the pattern
I cut a square in the top of the larger box lid so that the cards could fall from the second box to the bottom of the larger box. I made the square hole smaller than the second box so that I could still glue the second box on the larger lid. (I just used my glue gun for this)
I used napkins, yes cloth napkins, for the lids. I got the napkins at Home Goods (a great item to use for projects since they are already hemmed and are fairly large pieces of fabric)
The fabric I used was a flocked fabric I am using for the table toppers at the reception. I got the fabric from 800fabrics.com
I had to line the fabric with white fabric (I used an old sheet) because the fabric was a little see thru and you could see the pattern on the original boxes. I used iron on fusing for that.
I used spray glue to attach the fabric to the boxes. I love that stuff. It is very workable.
The black ribbon I got at Joann's. It is sold by the yard (I always use the 40% off coupon)
The feet on the bottom of the box are drawer pulls that I got at Home Depot. I made sure I got a drawer pull that had a back to it, I knew it would hold better. I drilled a hole inside the bottom box, put a washer inside the box and attached the screw to the knob. The screw was too long, so my husband cut it for me, but you can get shorter screws at Home Depot as well.
The chandelier was a huge splurge. It was $19.99 plus shipping. It came with the hanger, it was silver but I painted it black.
Led Mini-Chandelier (lp15) By Chris Collicott - Kikkerland - Chris Collicott - Home Furnishings - Unica Home
I cut a slit on the top round box lid, and inserted the battery pack through that slit.
The bling around the slit for the cards and the top of the round box I got from Joann's. It was pricey I thought at $13.99 a yard, but with the 40% off coupon I saved $7 on a yard a quarter.
The black ribbon around the bottom edges of the boxes I also got from Joann's. You have to put ribbon around these areas to hide the seam of the boxes.
The brooch is mine that I already had. You can find awesome brooches at yard sales and thrift shops.
The initials are self stick letters that I got at a scrapbooking store.
I think that is it. It really was time consuming, especially since I had never done one before. Good luck and I hope this helps!
