Ask a Question
How many brides are not doing the bouquet and garter toss?

We have decided not to do a bouquet or garter toss. I have yet to attend a wedding that do not do this.

Have you attended a wedding that skipped this tradition?
Will you be following the tradition?

I went to a wedding where they didn't do it. I was kind of waiting for it, and it never happened. I think we're skipping it too. The garter thing is just weird and inappropriate. I mean, that's underwear! And I feel like fewer and fewer women actually want to catch a bouquet. So it's out for us. :-)

We will NOT be doing a bouquet or garter toss either. My sister skipped both of these traditions and no one missed them at all and didn't even realize it until the next day! I agree with purplenat1, the garter thing is icky! My grandma will be there. And as for the bouquet toss, as a guest at weddings where they practiced this tradition, I would always slip to the bathroom because it made me feel uncomfortable.

There was no way I was doing a bouquet and garter toss. I just don't like the tradition and I don't really get it and the weddings I have been to usually exclude it. I always thought it was mean to put my single girls on blast. BUT, i will say that I've told a few of the single girls that "I won't be doing it" and they were SO disappointed! They actually look forward to it. One of my friends said she loves that part cause it gives her "hope." awwww!! And here I was thinking that I was being mean by bringing them all to the dancefloor, but they want to be there. Another friend said she loves that she could get to take a pretty bouquet home. So now I am ONLY reconsidering it. But not doing a garter toss, no!

Not doing either of them. Not a fan of being that intimate around ppl with the garter toss, and not trying to isolate single girls either. So nope - neither for me.

We will do it. But for sure I don`t just wanna waste my beautiful flower bouquet and garter like that...;) so I will get a nice looking (but cheaper) flower bouquet just for that and for the garter moment I will put on a cheap one, too.... That way I get to keep mines for the memories...but still have a lil fun with the whole thing...

WOW, nice to see I am not the only one skipping it! Thanks ladies for your input.  I don't feel bad for skipping this tradition anymore.

We won't be doing these either. I'm keeping my bouquet to put on my FH's brother's grave. He passed away a few years ago and I think it'll be a nice tribute to put my bouquet on his grave. Don't think we'll do a garter toss either, my garter's too pretty and expensive for that! If my FH really wanted to do it maybe, and if I did do a bouquet toss I would use one of the BM bouquets instead of mine

Nope...not doing either of the two. I want to party on my wedding...For me...that's just taking up wasted time. I don't remember who caught the bouquet or garter at the previous wedding I attending...So see...not that big of deal.
