Feathers!
So i'm 100% positive I do not want flowers, I want feathers, feathers and more feathers! I'm debating on buying from Emplume or just buying materials from etsy.com and michaels!
Here's some ideas! Anyone else doing feathers? Are you ordering or making yourself? Just think of the amount of money you could save by making everything yourself! |

Linen Change = Dress Change!
So the ladies are thrilled with the linen change because this means dress change! They've wanted black dresses since the planning first started! I said no because we were planning on having all black linens and i didn't want this to look completely like a funeral. But due to recent changes (see previous post) looks like they win!
Black dresses 3 with Orange sashes and 3 with Yellow sashes! I think it will actually look better with the guys wearing completely black aside from the ties and vests. -Crystal |

Thinking outside the fireplace..
So i came across these adorable "fireplace covers" that will be for our head table! I ordered 5 in total in case one doesn't light up or something silly, if i don't need it i'll probably use it for the candybar or guestbook table.
Also we're thinking of making some spiderweb tablerunners for the guest tables. The hall we are having the supper and reception at include white linens for no extra charge so we've decided to actually save some money and just add touches of black instead of renting black linens. -Crystal |

Surprise First Dance
I don't believe i've shared this yet on my blog but pretty much ever since we became engaged we and the wedding party have been talking about doing a "surprise" first dance.
For those of you who are thinking "whaaaa?!" It's when you are dancing your first dance as hubby and wife, it suddenly sounds like the dj is skipping the song and SURPRISE you break out into dance together and/or with your wedding party. Being as it is a halloween wedding, of course we thought Thriller - Michael Jackson would be perfect. But it's wayyyy over done. If you type "thriller wedding dance" in youtube you'll find hundreds of them. So.. the girls and i were talking and we've decided Bad Romance - Lady Gaga. None of my WBC girls know this but i kind of have a GAGA obsession. She pretty much made her own version of thriller dance moves for the song. What do you ladies think? Anyone else doing a unique first dance? |

My vision!
Just wanted to update you ladies with a few samples of my vision! The BM's are still trying to make my change my mind about their dresses, they'd love to wear black with the orange and yellow sashes but i'm pretty sure it would be too much black with all of the linens being black.. what do you think?

Wedding Dress
I did it!
I ordered the Amara Royale in Ivory with pewter accents! Only problem was i didn't actually get to try it on before ordering. But going to Winchester's Bridal in Halifax was a fabulous experience! They really made me comfortable in ordering without trying it on by picking out dresses that had the same characteristics until i was confident in ordering. I had previously gone to a shop in Dartmouth that the dress was actually $50 cheaper but the customer service was so poor that i decided on paying the extra money just to make sure someone deserving got the commission.
