Eternity band vs 3/4
Are eternity bands really that inconvienant?

I want to get a thin princess cut channel set wedding band custom made. I just can't decide on an eternity band or one where the stones go 3/4 the ways around. I've been doing some reading and I'm not too worried about discomfort or the possibility of damage, since I'm pretty easy on my hands. The only thing I'm worried about is the resizing issue.

It sounds like they are near impossible to resize, but it could be made slightly bigger by shaving some gold out.

Does anybody out there have experience with eternity bands? Do you think finger sizes really change that much?

It is so frustrating to pay for trials, and then not be satisfied with the makeup or hair.

I had a disappointing trial at MAC, but I then found a really good lady, who did a trial at my apartment, she did my makeup in the pictures.

These pictures also show the hair trial I had. I went to my regular stylist with a picture of a half up hairstyle. She was really rough on my hair, and kept saying it was hard to style because it was too fine and slippery, and then she said the hair style looked like prom or grad. In the end she charged me $130 the price of a regular updo.

I actually didn't think it looked so terrible, except I looked like a conehead at some angles. I've decided not to book her, mainly because she charged me so much, all the while saying it looked bad on me.

On the upside, I really love my feather comb.

Wow I love Etsy, I hadn't bought anything until now, and so far I'm very pleased.

I got a custom feather comb, a hot pink black lace garter, and I just put in an order for a damask aisle runner (I did not get the one below made, I decided to go ivory.)

I think I'm getting addicted. I'm not very crafty myself, so I love how you can get so many customized things.

Questions for brides with ivory dresses
Does ivory really look so bad against white? I've heard that if you're dress is ivory, and you're next to anything white you're dress can look dirty or yellow. I got worried about it as I wanted a black and white damask aisle runner (shown below.) If it's true I wonder if other bride's are going through the trouble of making everything ivory such as table linens or men's shirts?

Is it's really that important, will anyone actually notice?

If you're looking for hot pink or bright shoes I recommend www.zappos.com (although they don't ship to Canada, had to use friends PO Box) or www.ninashoes.com, they have some shoes you can customize the heel height and colour.

Damask Aisle Runners?
What do you ladies think of damask aisle runners? I had my mind set on one, and found a place that will locally make and rent it, but now that I'm about to order it, I'm having doubts. I was set on it until my Man of honour who's opinion I really trust said it looked busy. Now I'm worried it will be distracting. It's the only damask element I was planning on having.

This is the fabric that the aisle runner would be made of. It's hard to envision, what it will look like from this swatch. What do you think? Your opinions will really help me! Thank you!

Got my shoes!
Wow, the time has been flying, just like everyone said it would! My New Years resolution is to get this wedding planned!

I dropped my dress off yesterday at a place that does alterations and custom dresses. It was such a relief to see it all pinned back and somewhat fitting, I can't wait for the next fitting!

I also ordered my shoes from Zappos. It was a really long search to find the right pair. I really wanted fuchsia like my bridesmaids, but it was hard to find shoes that were the right heel height. I wanted them under 3" because I think I will be on my feet a lot, and because my groom isn't that much taller then me hehe! I hope they get here soon!

I'm looking for wedding Iphone applications, does anyone out there use them? So far I only have the free one from the Knot. There are a couple planning ones out there, just not sure which one to pick. I'd like one that has a timeline/checklist type function.

& dress alterations
I used to be a big Lush fan until it started getting to pricey, I just noticed on their website they have a lower cost for bulk orders. $2.95 CAD per bomb instead of $3.95. I think that would make a really cool wedding favour, It would also make the place smell great. I guess it's more of a girly thing though...I don't think Bryan would approve hehe. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was interested.

Went to a consultation on the weekend with my mom and grandma to see about getting my dress altered. We went to a place at Richmond Public Market, that was literally in the market. I was trying my dress on next to produce and live seafood. My dress is at least 2 sizes too big and needs to be taken apart and competely resewn. The lady only quoated me $200, which I think is a steal considering my friend paid close to that just to get hers hemmed. The seamstress spoke in Chinese the entire time, so I'm lucky my mom and grandma were there to translate!

As soon as I got home I saw an episode of Bulging Brides where the girl had the exact same dress haha. I thought it was kind of neat.

Seamstress forgot our appointment
Havn't done much wedding stuff lately but, I was really looking forward to seeing a seamstress with my mom today. My dress is a couple sizes too big, so I really need a consultation to see if it can even be altered. The seamstress completely forgot about our appointment that I booked about a month ago and wants to reschedule it another month away! I'm going to look for another one in the meantime...

In other news, went to the annual zombie walk yesterday, it was so much fun. I'm totally putting this pic in our wedding slideshow.
