This is cutecouple08's Pink Wedding!

Okay, so I'm not a person to really rant to others about my problems but I've just had it!

I love my fiance`. He is the best man any woman could ask for. But his family is crap. I won't go all into details because I could write a book on all the things they have done to him (including leaving our surprise engagement trip to Vegas the day after he proposed because we didn't want to drive to the Grand Canyon... Yes... They went to the airport the next day and left!)

Anyways... We have been engaged for 10 months now and three days ago we booked our venue. It has been NO surpise to ANYONE that we were getting ready to start making things offical. We're very excited about our wedding so naturally we talk about it all the time and everyone new we were going with a day in July.

Well I posted this news on Facebook to share the joy. The next day my fiance's brother texted him and said that was the day of the Montana 200. for those of you who are clueless to racing this is the biggest race of the year for amateaur racers here on the West Coast... And it just so happens that my fiance's dad and brother race in it every year.

So my fiance calls his dad and the first thing his dad says is "YOU NEED TO CHANGE THAT DATE!" I couldn't believe it, his dad is not like that at all. Cory, my fiance, who was pissed at this point said "what if I don't? Will you choose racing over my wedding day?" And his dad says "Well you need to change it so we don't have to find out!" Then he hung up... WTF?

Oh and not to mention when my fiance had his going away party to Iraq, yes IRAQ, his dad and brother didn't go because they had a race! That could have been the last chance they had with him but all his dad could say was "Oh your just going on vacation..."

I just can't believe it. We are not racing people, we don't know when the Montana 200 is. We didn't do it on purpose. And you'd think if it was so important to them they would have said, hey guys, please don't plan your wedding on the weekend of the Montana 200 it's really important to us.

So now we are both pissed and he is horribly hurt. We don't think we want to change the date now because honestly I don't want people like that at my wedding. It just seems my special day is being tainted with family drama. =(

I'm finally finished with all my tree tags!

I used my Cricut: Sweetheard cartridge, to cut out the pink tags in 2.5". Then cut out the white background using the shadow option. I glued them together and tied a string through the hole. I added a rhinestone gem in the middle of the flower for a little pizzaz. These where very cheap and easy.

I used about 5 12x12 sheets of paper for each color, which made a little over 115 (considering a few mess-ups). All together I spent about 10 dollars at Joanns.

One of my first DIY projects is almost finished! Yay =)

I just have a few touch ups on the paint and I'm going to add a flower in the corners and VIOLA!

These will end up costing about $4.50 each:
wood board: $2.50 (joanns with 50% coupon)
Paint: $0.69 for white and black
Contact paper: $1.00 (dollar store)
Flower: $.50

I painted the whole board white. Then created a stencil with my handy Cricut machine: Sweetheart Cartridge. I put the stencil on and painted it black and thats it! SO simple!!

Tip: Peel the stencil off right after you paint. DON'T let it dry. Thats why the BRIDE looks a little rugged. But I'm still okay with it.

I have been having an internal struggle with deciding between plastic plates or renting ceramic plates. Well, I think I have made my decision... plastic.

Here's my thought process for those of you who might be having the same conflict:
One, the wedding will be outside so it won't seem "cheap".
Two, we are doing everything ourselves so being able to recycle everything instead of cleaning it is a huge bonus.
Three, it is way cheaper!!!
Four, it is a GREAT way to add color, since I decided on white table cloths
Five, we are such a laid back couple I don't really care about having plastic as long as it looks nice... which I know it will!

Ah, it feels so nice to have finally decided on this and to feel good about it!

I am making my own tags for my wishing tree and I'm not sure how many to make.

My guest list is around 64, but some are younger and most are couples. Should I make one for each or more like 45 tags?

Any input would be helpful!! =)

Okay, I am trying to decide how to arrange my reception tables. My colors are hot pink, yellow and orange. I know they are very bright colors so I am trying to figure out how to make it look bright and fun without the colors being so overwhelming.

Our wedding will be outside so that will also help keep the colors from being too much.

I have posted some pictures to get some ideas. I know the rental place I am using only has white dinner plates so I am afraid if I use a white tablecloth it will be too plain. But if I use a color table cloth or overlay it will be too bright...

What do you ladies think?

So, me and FH were at Michaels grabbing a few crafting supplies and FH asked a sales woman for some helping finding something. She took us over to the item and as she was leaving she said "Before I forget here is a random act of kindness" and handed us an envelope.

We opened the envelope after she walked away and it was a gift card for $25!

The only thing it asked of us was to pass on the random act of kindness =) What a great thing for a company to do! Especially a company of that size.

So ladies next time your in Michaels be extra nice to the sales people and maybe you'll recieve one too.

For my 21st birthday I planned a family vacation to Las Vegas. Me, Cory, my mom, my aunt, my grandma, his mom and his brother were all going! On the first day we all decided to go out on the town and walk around, no plans to do anything special. I could tell something was wrong with Cory because he was acting quiet and I just figured he had anxiety from being in such a crowed place (later I found out he was a total nervous wreck before we left the hotel). Well, as we were walking the strip we pass by the Eiffel Tower and he pulls me aside underneath it. He turns me to face him and I knew something was up because he is usually a jokester and not one for serious moments. He began telling me how he loved me and how I was his team mate for life, and I knew what was coming as he dropped on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was in complete shock, I didn't even look at the ring I just said yes and threw myself in his arms. It was perfect =) We were able to go and celebrate the rest of our vacation as newly engaged and even recieved some free drinks!
