HELP! Which Save The Date is your favorite???
Well we are still waiting on our engagement pictures to arrive. Which is stressing me out just a little.. she said we should have them by Tuesday...and now its Friday. But oh well, out of my control. Obviously we cannot send them out for christmas save the dates anyways, so early January it is. *sigh* However, as I patiently wait... I have picked out a few Save The Date designs from magnetstreet which I have personalized. Sooo, as soon as we receive our pictures we can pick one and order them ASAP!!

Which one do you ladies like best???

Wedding Dress
Details for the shoes
I found the perfect shoes!! I had been looking for probably a good 6 months for the perfect shoe (what can I say I like shoes hehe). I knew I definitely wanted red to tie in with the BM dresses... but it was hard to find the right color red and one that would go with my dress! I thought I wanted something really funky.. but because my dress has a lot of detailing and personality already I thought this shoe would really compilment it. AND it is the EXACT color of my BMs dresses!!!! (I always have a swatch with me!) haha.

QUESTION # 1 - are you ladies planning on wearing heels all night?? Not that I can't wear heels.. these I found were actually nice height... I just had originally planned to wear comfy flats for dancing.

Now as for a fun detail.. I came across another brides post about have SWAROVSKI crystal stones on the bottom of the shoe saying "I DO" or your initials & your FH's initials. You can get the crystals in blue to be your something blue category.. or any other color. http://bellesandcrystals.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/i-do-swarovski-bridal-shoe-applique

QUESTION # 2 - what do you think of this idea?? I thought it would be a neat personal touch. Do you like the I DO or Initials better?

Wedding Dress
Finally found my dress! What do you think??
So after going to many different bridal stores.. I finally found the dress that is THE ONE! I was starting to think that dress just didn't exist. haha I mean I tried on lots of dresses that I liked, but there was nothing that had blown me away. I was looking for something different.
My mom & I went to vic a few months ago and I tried on a bunch of dresses.. I tried on this one and loved it! I was still overwhelmed so I decided not to order the dress on the spot. A month later I could not stop thinking about it.. we ended up going back to vic and went to another store just to see what else was around. I compared every dress I tried on to this one... so I figured that was a good sign. As soon as we went back to the store and I tried it on I knew right away that it was the ONE! I am so excited!
It has everything I was looking for in a dress.. it has a flattering tight bodice with a sweetheart.. it has a lot of detailing.. beautiful beading!the material is light a flowy (i loved the look of the satin dresses but they were just too heavy for me), and a bit of a mermaid flair to the bottom with some lace. It is very feminine and has some personality to it! I tried on one that was almost double the price with the same sort of style.. but was silk.. not the same at all though! I love this one!

Here are some pics I found online of another bride wearing it.. I def want a long veil with it too!!! I tried it on, not even thinking I wanted a veil like this or at all, and it totally made the dress even more beautiful (if possible!).

HELP! WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I feel like I am in a dilemma. When we got engaged last christmas.. I thought I knew right away who I wanted as my bridesmaids. I, however, listening to advice, waited until april to announce ( I had found the bridesmaids dresses by then so I needed to know sizes!). Unfortunately, one of the girls i asked to be a BM (whom I have been friends with since I was 17) have lost touch, i haven't seen since October. She started dating a new guy in the summer (which I am very happy for her) but rarely have seen her since. It went from coffee or appys every week, to every second, to once a month, to a few months without seeing her. I try emailing her or phoning her but usually don't get a response back til a few days later.

I understand friends drift apart.. and we have in the past gone for even a year without hanging out...but i just don't feel any support. It also makes it tough because one of my other friends (whom I have also been friends with since highschool) who I did not ask to be a bridesmaid has been helping me out so much. She has gone dress shopping with me, helped me make decisions on flowers, and even watches/buys bride magazines when she has a chance and emails me any ideas she has. My fiance and I have really appreciated all her input, and really want her to have a special part in the wedding. We discussed having her as another bridesmaid and still keeping my other friend as one as well but unfortunately the dresses I bought for BM dresses are not available anymore.

What do you think I should do?? Should I just leave it the way things are?? Should I approach the absentee friend about how I feel? I know it would hurt her feelings if I took her out of the wedding.. but I just really don't feel any support! Plus she hasn't even picked up the dress since I bought it for her! She keeps putting it off or making up excuses.

Which dress is your favorite?
I went dress shopping for the second time today!! I had such a great time. I don't know about you.. but it is very overwhelming. There were soo many dresses and I liked a lot of them! Atleast this time I had an idea of the style that I like. I was able to narrow it down to 3 and I also added my favourite dress from my first shopping experience. I still have lots of time to make a decision andI think I am going to keep looking. BUT!!!!! there was one certain one I tried on that i said aloud "I THINK THIS IS IT". Which made my mom and I both teary eyed!

So any feedback would be greattttlyyy appreciated! I personally am leaning towards one but I really wanted to see what you other ladies had to say :)

What color sash on the bridesmaids dresses?
I am so excited that I found bridesmaids dresses so soon!! I happened to be shopping at RW & Co in Vancouver and saw a dress that i absolutely loved in the exact colors I pictured. It has nice detailing at the top, it comes with straps, and the bottom has a bit of crinolin which I think really adds to the look! I tried it on and knew I had to get them :) They were regular $89.. which I thought was reasonable. But then the girl helping me told me that any purchase over $75 qualified for an extra $15 off!!! So they ended up being $74 plus tax!!! THEN, my mom offered to pay for them for my 4 BM and my MOH! YAY!

I need advice on what color to make the sash around the waist. I want it to be summery.. any ideas?? Should it tie in with my multi colored gerbera daisies? I am planning on having the flower girls have white dresses and use this red as their sash to tie in.

Wedding Reception
Ceremony & Reception at Tigh-na-mara!
Neil and I picked Tigh-na-mara in Parksville for both our ceremony and reception. It is absolutely breath taking! Picture yourself standing in a beautiful timber framed gazebo overlooking the ocean with the snow capped mountains in the background. With miles and miles of sandy beach for photo opts, and an indoor reception area with outdoor patio. the whole resort has a true west coast feel!

I am so happy that tigh-na-mara also does alot of the work for you. They will design a meal specifically for your tastes, as well as a cake, and a lot of the basics (white on white linens, chair covers, candles etc.). I am really excited to start working with my wedding coordinator. She has been so helpful so far!

I am trying to come up with ideas for the ceremony area. I LOVE the idea of pomanders.. my flowers are going to be multi colored gerberas.. I am wondering if it would be easier to use silk gerberas and pick different colors for each ball??? Perhaps hanging baskets at the entrance to the gazebo?? Any ideas to spice things up? I don't want to take away from the view, but at the same time add my own personal touch :)

The Proposal
How it all started :)
Well I better start at the beginning.. Neil and I met January 24th 2007 through a mutual friend and we hit it off right away. He was so sweet and so funny, and I knew right away he was going to be a very important person in my life. For Valentines day he took me out to the keg for dinner and when we got back to his place he blind folded me then led me inside. He had 24 roses at different stations throughout the house with candles and rose petals along the way. He lead me to each station and told me that each rose represented each day since we had met and recounted something sweet about every one of the 21 days. It was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for me! Then in his room he had the last 3 roses with a teddy bear dressed up as cupid for me and told me I had stolen his heart and that he loved me!!! (WOW we had only known each other 3 weeks!!!)

23 months later he proposed on Christmas Eve!! We had talked about rings and what not before but I did not know how far in the future we were talking. It was a snowy christmas eve so he borrowed my parents truck so we could go to the Keg for dinner (I should have known I was in for something special!) and we planned to open our presents to each other after dinner then go to my parents to spend Christmas Eve night with them. We came back home and he seemed overly excited to open his presents.. he suggested that he open all his presents first and then I could open mine. Neil ripped through his presents and then it was my turn. I opened my presents and was quite spoiled (or so i thought at the time!!). Then he pulled out one last present under the tree. It looked like a shoe box.. HMM... I opened it and the box was full of rose petals!!! I knew something was up... at the bottom was a note that said "Will you..." and when I looked up he was on his knee infront of me with a lil box and a huge smile on his face. He told me I was his bestfriend and his soulmate and he couldn't wait for our future together and asked me to marry him.. he said some more cute things but by then I was totally blubbering! I couldn't barely even say yes!

After that we went to my parents house to announce the news. They were so excited for us and we cracked a bottle of champagne to celebrate :) (Don't mind my picture as you can tell I had been crying haha no makeup here!!!) My mom told me that he had asked my parents for their permission that afternoon when he picked up the truck. It was very sweet and I couldn't have had a better Christmas eve! It was great timing as well because his parents live in Arkansas and were up to see the family for christmas. So we were able to share our special news with them in person on Christmas day. He made me hide my ring until dinner so he could announce it to his family!!! I could barely contain the news.

Now we are starting to plan our big day! We set the date for July 24, 2010 giving us lots of time to plan and by then his parents will be living in town so they can be a part of the process. I am so glad I found this site full of lovely ladies going through a similar experience :) Most of my friends are single so it is awesome to be able to share ideas!!!
