The Proposal
How he proposed...
Pete proposed to me on a family camping trip in Savanna, IL. We took a walk and sat in a small thicket in a valley. Drinking wine from glasses he had packed in a picnic basket, he asked me if I still loved him. I said of course, that I have loved him for three years now (we had been dating that long). He asked me if I wanted to make it even longer and brought out a small, white, vintage-looking box. Inside was a gorgeous gold and diamond engagement ring, along with a future wedding ring. Of course I said Yes! and tears ensued. We finished our wine, walked back to the campsite, and were greeted by our families. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful campside dinner and some engagement cake.
