I bought a gorgeous dress from Taylor's in Elmira, Ontario. I bought it off the rack actually, as the dress was in near-perfect condition. Aside from a little bit of the appliqué coming away from the dress (quick, easy fix) - the dress was fine. No deodorant marks, no make-up - niltch.

Given that I bought it off the rack, it was 45% off. The dress was originally $1164, and with the taxes it was $723. How great is that? The lady that helped us (my mom, my Gramma and myself) was so nice, and was not pushy at all. Her name was Lynn and I would highly recommend seeking her assistance but not without booking an appointment first.

I would not however, step foot into Ballett's in Kitchener. Although the dresses are lovely, you won't have much luck trying on a dress if you are a "fuller figured lady" like me. The salesperson was trying to convince me that she could "pull" the dress so I could get an idea of how it looked. This was a size 10, ladies - which would fit like a size 8 in regular clothing. Regular clothing, I'm a 14. Riiiiiight. She tried to reassure me that they had -some- size 12's in stock. I only found 1 size 12 that I liked, and I wasn't going to undress for one single frock. Also, there is no competition with them as they only sell their own line of wedding gowns. That makes it a little harder to shop around.

Sophie's is another case. The owner (tall & blonde) is way too pushy, and I didn't like the way she forced herself into the change room with me. Everywhere else gave me the choice to help me into the dress and explained how to get into them respectfully.

Charmanté's was the same. The girl that helped me there was a little snotty, and had a VERY fake laugh. It didn't seem as though she enjoyed her job. The rest of the girls wouldn't even make eye contact with me, and wouldn't even say hello. I thought that they were rude all around.

If anyone else has had any similar experiences, I'd love to hear about them.
