This is danette's Yellow Wedding!

Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. There is nothing like spending time with the family.This weekend was so exhausitng, buy gifts for the entire family, I just wish the stores had better discount s. Either way, I was curious, since my mom is going to give me the KitchenAid mixer which was on my wish list for my wedding, I wanted to know how many other brides are going to get presents this year to be used for their wedding? Example: SPA treatments, jewelry, shoes...I know I would love for someone to pay for my nails and hair to get done as a christmas present on a gift card or certificate so that I could use for my wedding day. Let me know, hopefully your family and friends are thinking ahead, because that is one less expense out of our pockets. =)

Although this is not me in the picture, I can totally relate. I bought my dress from Alfred Angelo in July and I went to try it on for the first time this Saturday. Boy was I nervous.... I had ordered my dress with out knowing if it would actually fit because they did not have the size that I needed in the dress that I ordered. Based on the other dresses I had tried I was either a 4 or 6, so the lady at the store measured me and said I would be a 10. I was like who did the charts, because they are totally wrong... especially if I was fitting into their 4's and 6's. So long behold I ordered the 4 and now I am wondering if I should have gone with the 6. I love the dress but it does not fit the way I had hoped. I thought I could get away with the 4 because it laced in the back, but now it does not tighten on the bottom part. What to do.....has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know why stores don't carry more sizes, this would have avoided my frustration right now....

UPDATE (11/14/08): So I went this Saturday and the dress fit my like a glove. I guess it just took a little bit of experience from the alterations lady on how to lace the dress. By the way, the dress that was ordered was a 6. Thank God!

I was wondering how many brides are going to buy the flowers from a florist OR buy them in bulks and make the arrangements themselves?

I just can't imagine spending so much money on a bouquet ($150 or more). So please let me know if you are...

Using real or silk flowers?
Buying from a florist or Making them yourselves?

I anticipate doing the arrangements myself for about no more than $250 and I will be using real yellow roses from Costco, and maybe some other flowers, but I am not sure about that yet. So how about you, please let me know?

Okay, I love the idea of comfort so, I have been thinking of purchasing dyeable or custom ballroom dancing shoes. I found two sites that sell them, and I like the options I have selected, but I want to see if anyone knows of a store where I can buy them in person...

My mom gave me this idea, which I think sounds really cute. She told me that I could have my guest throw little rocks into a lake that will be behind the gazebo in which I am going to get married. Before the guest throw their rock, they have to make a wish for us... I was wondering if anyone else know of activities like these that can be done at the ceremony.

I love my wedding dress, I actually bought it two months ago, and it is waiting for me at the store. I am hoping it will fit me perfectly especially since I did not get to try it on at the store because they did not have my size. Gosh it makes me nervous.
