I decided early on that I wanted sparkly shoes, but could never find any in my price range. Enter DIY bling shoes.

After one of my trips to the mall I stumbled upon a pair of black heels on clearance for $5 at Debs and decided to go for it. After all, if I ruined it, I'd just be out of a $5 pair of shoes and not an expensive pair.

After several trips to Michael's to use my 50% of coupons to get about 2500 crystals, some satin ribbon, E6000 glue, glass beads and string I embarked on my blingy journey.

Four days and 20 hours later I finished the first shoe. I sewed glass beads on the ankle strap for some dangling pizzaz, I hand glued on a couple thousand tiny crystals in 3 sizes, added a blue bow made out of satin ribbon to match the wedding colors and also be my something blue and did a few snips of fabric here and there.. and VOILA.

I'm quite proud of it and it's so sparkly in person. Include before, during and after pictures. Please excuse my pale pale legs!

I was just gonna say YOU ARE AMAZING! I want your bling shoes! What a great idea. I had an idea of adding a orange ribbon to my silver shoes but I never took the plunge.

Hi there, I know I'm late but I am looking for these crystals and cannot find them anywhere!!  You got them from Michaels?  What exactly are they called and/or what section did you find them in?  And how much did they cost?  THank you!!!!

Thanks! I got them in the section of Michael's where all the beads are. They are called Crystalazzi or something like that. They were these pretty big packs that had 3 different crystal sizes in one pack. They are normally about $15 a pack, but I used 50% off coupons on them and got them for about $7 a pack. I also have read to check e-bay, because sometimes you can catch them for cheaper on there as well. Let me know if you need anymore info!!

This is indeed a very good  piece of work that you have done and  provided a completely different look with. I think that it would be a very good thing to give it a try at and have that perfect look.

Thank you, I will have to look for them.  Do they come in a bag?  I seriously looked all over Michael's yesterday and could only find cheap looking rhinestones that came stuck on pieces of paper......
