Thank goodness for all the people helping me!
My soon-to-be mother-in-law, Barb, has a great friend who's going to be doing the flowers and helping coordinate the decorating. We all spoke on the phone Saturday afternoon, and I feel SO MUCH BETTER about our progress. I feel like we have a direction as far as the decorating goes, and I know it's going to be GORGEOUS!! Thanks Barb, and thanks Kelly!!!
And thanks to my mom who is keeping an eye out for the "this-n-that's" that I keep finding out that I need. You are a big help! |

Houses
Devin decided to look for a bigger house. The one he's renting right now is a small two bedroom with very little closet space. (And he probably has as many clothes as I do! :-) So, we've been keeping our eyes open for a three bedroom, and we've looked at three so far. The second one was a cute little tri-level, three bedroom and two baths, and was set on the edge of town on a good deal of land. It has a finished basement, a covered patio in the back, a two-car garage and a carport, and it already has a little area to start a garden. It is so beautiful and, though there are houses around, the land and trees envelope the house to the point that you hardly see the neighbors.
We both loved it and yet wouldn't let ourselves become too attached because the landlord showed three or four other families that same day. Well, I found out Wednesday that he really liked us and we got the house!! Now I'm even more ready for the next three months to hurry and get here so we can have our fabulous wedding and I can move in to that beautiful house with my wonderful husband ;-) God is good!! |

Flower girls
what a deal!!
Okay, so I chose a flower girl dress style the same night we got the bridesmaid dresses, and I scheduled appointments for my two flower girls to come in and be sized. Both were size three. David's Bridal called me the day after and informed me the dress style I had chosen went on clearance, and they only had one size three in their store. So the manager did some calling to other stores and found ONLY ONE size three at a store in Texas. So, I paid over the phone and they're shipping it to me. The best part about it is, it was only $29.99!!! Can you believe it? I fully expected to pay the tag price of $99.99, but God clearly had another plan in mind (and he knows I love saving money :-) . So I have to shout a big Hallelujah! for that find.
What I'm doing with my flower girls is having one wear a watermelon colored bow around the waist and the other a fern colored bow, then each one will carry a basket the opposite color as their bow. I'm so excited to put the whole look together!!! |

Bridesmaids
Gotta see the dresses...
Monday evening was our bridesmaid dress try-ons...YAY!!! We had so much fun, and each girl found their dress. Each dress is going to be a different style, as shown, but all of them are going to be in a pink color called "Watermelon" at David's Bridal. So imagine these dresses in an awesome pink color. Thanks again to my bridesmaids for going Monday, and you all look GORGEOUS!!!

Wedding Invitation
So excited!!
Okay, so I happened upon a post on WeddingByColor by a Deanna Arthur, and she was offering to make wedding invitation designs for free as long as one of the finished designs was mailed to her so that she can put it in her portfolio. She wants to eventually have her own invitation business. I thought it was worth a shot because I've looked high and low for the perfect invitation and nothing has just stood out to me as what I want for my wedding. So I told her what I was wanting and she made me the perfect invitation and rsvp card!! All I have to do is figure out the sizes I want and go copy them at staples or a similiar place and buy envelopes.
Deanna gave me permission to direct you to her blog if you would like to contact her : http://weddingbycolor.com/futurefrost09 Thanks again Deanna, and thanks WeddingByColor!!! |

Wedding Reception
Food or no food? That is the question...
It will be pretty expensive to have our wedding catered, so I'm thinking we'll go with simple finger foods and possibly a candy buffet table (shown in the pics). Since our wedding is in the afternoon, I don't think it will be necessary to have a full meal anyway.
We also debated on a dance, but decided not to. In the area we live, it isn't too common to have a dance reception, and it might make many of our guests uncomfortable, and we don't want to do that. We will definitely have some picture slides and some entertainment so that our guests will not be bored while waiting for the bridal party to take pictures. One idea I heard that I really like is providing disposable cameras on the tables and encouraging the guests to take pics of each other while a couple of volunteers are serving drinks. |

Groomsmen
Green and gorgeous!
I found these green vests and ties at mwtux.com and they are perfect! The guys will be wearing boutineirres that have a touch of the hot pink to coordinate with the girls' dresses. Can't wait to see how it looks together!!

centerpieces
I'm going for something simple yet elegant. The picture showing has my wedding flower....the stargazer lily. They will be out of season in July so I will have to buy silk ones. I've already bought a few for my bouquet, but I need many many more!! I actually found some really great green flower-shaped glass candle holders, so I'm going to see what I can do with them first. Even though our wedding will be at 2pm, I still want candles lit for a romantic glow. Eventually I will put together some centerpieces myself to get an idea of what I want, then I will take some pictures and put them on here.
