Ask a Question
What are you doing to get in shape for your big day?
Hi Ladies!

I haven't been able to post in awhile since school has taking over every aspect of my life. Things are starting to slow down and I've been able to get into the swing of things so here I am blogging away. So I have a question for you ladies, what are you doing to get in shape for your BIG DAY? I recently ( about month+) joined the gym my FH and bunch of my friends attend but haven't been able to go as much as I want. After realizing that I only have a year+ to get into the shape I want to be in. I guess the biggest motivation that I have in my mind is that during that special day my FH's eyes (along with everyone else) will be on me and I want to look my best for him and especially myself. So I better get moving lol

I have been looking around on different websites looking for tips and what not and I actually bought a book called "Bridal Boot camp" that one bride suggested on a forum that I stubbled on. I've been looking at it and it says that the best way to lose weight is slow and steady because if not you start losing muscle tone, which makes you flabby. I thought that was interesting since I never really knew that. That makes me want to start a new healthy lifestyle and just be healthy all around which includes reducing stress, vitamins and just plain taking care of myself since I deserve it lol.

So have you guys started a regimen? Are you working out? Dieting? or On a new healthy begining like me? Any tips, suggestions and/or troubles?

My E-ring broke!! Some tips to detect if yours is breaking
Hi Guys!!

So its been a while since i updated my wedding blog but school has started up again and I don't even have time to breath!!! So here is an update of my life!! Alex and I set an official date thanks to someone that commented on one of my posts (see below) and gave me the idea. So we are planning to get hitched on September 15, 2012 which is the day before we met! I figured "Hey its in the same ball park haha!! I wanted it the 16th but unfortunately lands on a Sunday and even though it is cheaper its just not practical for us! But yes we are getting married the day before we officially met. Which I think is such an adorable idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it but I am glad that someone mentioned as a comment to one of my post so a HUGE THANKS to you!!!!

Some more news is quite unfortunate but I am sure has happened to other Brides-to-be!. I was engaged seven months ago and was given a beautiful antique ring circa 1930s (through own research found out and I think its fabulous!!) and I am absolutely in love with it. I noticed that the band or "shank" as its called was a little thin to my liking but I figured it was "normal" for rings from that time. I was most certainly proven wrong last week. The band of my ring broke without warning or the cause of me doing something out of the normal (like welding or using my hands roughly) from the daily activities. When Alex and I went to the jewelry store he purchased it from they informed us that indeed the band was too thin. This was not because it is an older ring but in fact because they resized (sorry I can't fix my long chubby fingers into a size 4 lol) the ring and as a result became think. They did NOT put a heavier shank which is protocol.

The up-side is that they are fixing and tightening the diamonds for free since it was their mistake which is nice of them! So let this be a warning/learn from my experience if you feel that your ring is too thin on the bottom or curved and bent then take it to the jeweler before it snaps!! I found this great informative site online that helped me realized what was actually wrong with my ring so I could communicate with the jeweler!!

Ask a Question
Which wedding date is right for the picking?!?
Alright Ladies I need some girl advice.

Alex and I have been going back and forth over which date we want to pick for the wedding. I have done some research and found that the most expensive months for weddings are May through October. Since I am going to school and only have a part-time most of the burden falls on dear Alex, so we want the most BANG for our buck. So as a bride-to-be I have made some mini sacrifices for the greater good and decided that I do not need to be a "June" Bride and can live with an off-peak month and it still be fabulous. This date decision will of course effect the color scheme, choices of flowers, and if an outdoor ceremony will happen. So a lot is riding on this date and I trust you girls!! :)

I know that the weather is always unpredictable and we will MOST definitely have a back up plan if and when we decide for an outdoor ceremony.

So here are the lucky dates in the year of 2012:

March 10
March 24

April 14
April 28

November 10
November 17

Please, Please,Please input GREATLY appreciated!!!!

The Proposal
P.S Marry me??
How we got engaged

On the night of Sunday, June 21, 2009, Alex and I sat in my living room watching "P.S. I Love You" on DVD. Of course that movie is THE ultimate girly film and Niagara Falls was already coming out of my eyes!!!! So after the movie was over, Alex suggested that we work on our "Couples" memory book together. Alex then leafed through the pages pointing out things and eventually went to the "names" section of the book.

Then being the cleaver boy her is got me to say my full name. He then repeated it again (which I thought was weird lol) and flipped the to the back of the book where my beautiful ring awaited me and He said:

Dannie,

You are by far the best thing to ever happen to me. I love you. You are my best friend, my confidante, my shelter, my angel, and my wish come true. I never want to be far from you. I adore you, I cherish our time together and I couldn't be happier that you're in my life.
But what truly brightens my day... what truly brings a smile to my face... and what makes me believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that we were meant to be together for the rest of our lives is that I know everything I feel about you, I know you feel about me. Will you marry me?

Of course I was completely shocked and at that point crying hysterically and feeling a potpourri of emotions!! By the time I realized he was on one knee and waiting for my answer...which was YES of course. I honestly did not know what was going on and was especially surprised which is what I've always wanted.

I was dreamt that special moment would be like a normal day and to come out of the blue because I adore being surprised and for it to reflect me and what I love which is relaxing in my PJs, watching a movie.

The only thing I would change would be that Alex's camera misfired and did not record this special moment :(

Well I am out on the hunt for the perfect dress at the perfect price. I know what you must be thinking...ASKING TOO MUCH!! Personally, I feel that you can get both with a lot of research and patience.

Well these are some inspirations of the types of dresses I would like. I tend to go for a more vintage look, mermaid style and either sweetheart neckline or off the shoulder look.

Well I hope you like the types I have used as inspirations and would love some feed back on which ones you guys like!!

My personal piece of history!!
Well this is my beautiful antique ring!! I am a HUGE antique person and love anything that has a wonderful history behind it. My ring was purchase in Princeton while I was getting a hair cut (unknowing)!!! Alex was planning to pop the question so he used his time management skills and did when I was not going to realize it since I was busy.

I absolutely love my ring and wouldn't change anything about. The fact that it isn't some common makes me so happy. The diamond is an Old European cut diamond in the center along with six Old European cut diamonds in the prong setting. It also has three small diamonds on each side and all casted on a Platinum band.

Under the rating it falls under colorless and the second category under flawless under the GIA standards.

We were engaged in June 2009 so I am currently planning, saving and getting ideas for my wedding. What I do know is that I would like the ceremony outside and the reception inside so naturally it has to be a season with good weather or history of good weather. The date we have picked is September 15, 2012. I am hoping that I will be able to do most of the things DIY, so we will see that happens in months to come. The colors my FH and I have picked are Plum and Bone White with accents of Pumpkin, Marigold, Green Apple, and Slate.
