I met with a florist today and got a quote for my flowers. She quoted me just under $1000 for all and I have no idea if that was a good deal or not...seems like we are getting a lot for that but then agian... that a lot of money to spend on just flowers. I am a flower lover tho and fake just doesnt cut it for me (all flowers are gerbera diasies and roses),...how much did u spend?

Included:
1 Bridal bouquet and 1 toss
5 Bridesmaids bouquets
3 flower girls minature bouquets
3 corsages

12 boutinerres

1 flower cake topper
12 dozen gerbera daisies

I think you could order them all wholesale for waaaayyyyy less!!!! even if you just order the daisy's for the centerpieces, you would save a fortune!!!! Don't settle for that price until you do much more searching, that seems like way too much!!

That seems like an okay price to me.. except that it is a crazy amount to pay for flowers!
I got quoted 800 dollars.. but i don't have a toss bouquet, only bridesmaids, no flower girls stuff, less boutineres, and less centrepiece stuff.  But I also have a few extra flowers for my cake, and two larger church arrangements.  I don't think 1000 is terrible, but you may be able to find it all for 800 or 900.  I'd get quotes from one or two more places, it can't hurt!

That's actually a very good price for all that work!
People think a florist has an easy job, just tie some flowers together and voila!
My sister is a florist, she spends hours upon hours researching, ordering and confirming with the wholesalers, then hours upon hours actually doing the flowers.

Almostsparks is right, you could order basic flowers, like gerber daisies, hydrangea, roses and carnations for less than $1000, but then you are stuck with all the work.

20 relatively simple centerpieces = about 6 solid hours for a florist, double that for someone without experience.

Ours came to just under $1000, but my all my centerpiece flowers were bought from a local grower for $50, and I didn't pay any labour since my sister did them.

I thought of wholesale but have no idea where to purcahse wholesale flowers in canada. Cosctco has some but very limited in canada and not in my colors so that option is way out.  we are doing the centerpieces ourself also...she is charging $2/per gerbera....the bouquets i wouldnt attempt myself ever

WOW...that's alot!

I guess I got lucky...only because my FH's stepmother is a florist, and she made all of our bouquets, boutinierres, and corsages for about $150-200.  We bought all the silk flowers from the Flower Factory and I bought some supplies from her shop, and she whipped them right up! :)  In total we have:  my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, a throw away bouquet, 3 mother's corsages, 2 grandmother's corsages, and 8 boutinierres.

Honestly that price is pretty darn good. I ordered all mine online from Hibiscusflorals.com they specialize in silk wedding flowers. This wasn't cheap by any means but it was cheaper than using fresh for me, plus the flower I really wanted I wouldn't have even been able to get in October so silk was the way for us. We LOVED our flowers. You could check them out and maybe order just the wedding party then maybe do wholesale for your centerpieces and maybe the total cost doing that would be less...

I ordered the following and our total was a little less than $900 and everything was for basically wedding party...no centerpieces or cake flowers!!!!

Brides Bouquet
Toss Bouquet
4 Bridemaid Bouquets
Grooms bout
4 Groomsmen bouts
2 dads bouts
1 gpa bout
2 mom corsages
1 step mom corsage
2 gma corsages
host and hostess bout and corsage
personal attendant corsage

Thats a pretty good price for all those flowers. There may be some places where you can get it for less, but if they do good work you may be paying a little extra for that too.
For the other brides, don't forget that this is in Canadian dollars so it would be a little more then you would expect to pay in the States.
And I assume this is including the tax, so I think really not that bad.

This place does beautiful work... they were refered by so many people and so many venues i talked to said they do beautiful affordable work. I guess i can get quotes from other places too just to compare.

where we are, that could EASILY run you over 2k..  we were quoted an "on a budget" kinda quote of $4000 from one lady for 60 TINY centerpieces, actually the equivalent of thirty small ones (two per table because they are long and rectangular), bridal  and five bm bouquets, and five boutinerres, as well as ceremony decor that would partially double as centerpieces and head table decor.  we were going with mostly hydrangeas and roses (green).  so yes, i would say $1000 is a GREAT price!

I bought  faux flowers so I can keep them, I ordered mine from afloral.com and with accessories and enough flowers for 3 bouquets, 5 bouts, 2 corsages it came just under $70 with exchange and everything. I don't know if you wanted to go faux, but they look way better then the dollar store flowers.
