KICK ME! Im changing colors...AGAIN
lol this is my third color change..and im not promising it will be my last (I hope it is) BLAH. I feel so indecisive about my wedding! The old colors were aqua and white with accents of hot pink. I love those colors but since we recently changed our summer date to Sept 4, its borderline a fall wedding now. I have seen the navy blue and hot pink/raspberry pink combo around and have always loved it, so this will be our new color scheme. If I change my mind again.. someone please kick me haha

Were moving on south, cuz its a BBQ?!
lol, we didnt have too many expectations when it came to the food, however my FH insisted he did not want carved beef roast of any kind. Try to find a caterer for cheap that doesnt serve a roast lol. We found a guy who will do a BBQ for us, which is really what we want.
On our menu we have, Baked potatoes and toppings, Corn on the cob, Baked beans. Assorted Salads, Fruit salad, buns and a choice of steak or chicken BBQ'd, assorted desserts, coffee and tea. I guess its not the traditional wedding meal .. but we will enjoy it much more then a boring buffet lol. He is all booked and deposit is payed! Steak buffet is $16/pp Chicken buffet is $12/pp we might add in a pasta choice What are you having at your wedding? |

I love my goalie!
I have never been a fan of cake toppers... and monograms either. But I really like this cake topper lol. My FH LOVES hockey and plays as a goalie, I thought this would be so cute but I cant find anyone who makes or sells them. What do you think?
EDIT: I decided not to go with any topper, my original idea. I love the idea of flowers and thats it, simplicity! |

What do you think of weddings on long weekeds?
We have to change our date as our venue is booked the day we had planned, BLAH! We were considering July 3, 2010 (which is July long weekend). We live in Canada so we celebrate on Thursday for Canada day and then get the weeked off. 200 guests comming from out of town... would this be better to have it on the long weekend or not? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a wedding on a long weekend? thanks!

No reception Dinner?
Dessert only wedding instead?!
We are trying to save costs and thought about just scrapping the dinner together and having a dessert buffet instead. I thought of having tables of squares and pies and another table with a chocolate fountain and fruit and another table with a candy buffet and another with a sundae station and then the cake of course. The reception would start later (7pm compared too 5 pm). we have 200 guests and 90% are from out of town. I Dont want to seem cheap or make anyone upset... do you think this would be a good idea? We would also have diabetic not so sweet options. no one really mingles during dinner..they just eat...so were cutting that step out.
We would have the ceremony before (around 2-3) which would give people time to check into there hotel and grab some diner before the party began. Im worried this is too big of a gap. We might just have the ceremony at 7 pm and the recption immediately following. We would have to take pics before hand. EDIT:::Although i am still in love with this idea and wish we were going with it, my FH hates dessert (odd I know) so it would be selfish. I told him I would get him a big steak before and he wouldnt have to eat any of it..but he is persistant on having a sit down dinner. He wins i guess. :( |

Doc...I got a bad case...
I cant get to sleep because all i think about is weddings!
my wedding is 13 months away but im at the big decision planning stage and as soon as my head hits the pillow its all I think about.t here should be a diagnosis for insomnia caused directly by wedding planning. I havent had a proper sleep since i was engaged haha. Its 3 am and finally I gave up, no sleep for now! Does anyone else have wedding insomnia? I just need a chill pill lol |

Signature picture frames
I went to micheals today and found these frames for 60% off (cost me $30 for two).
They are going to be my guest book as I wanted something more practical then an album I will never look at again. I had no idea how many to get, I have 200 some guests but I know not everyone is going to sign. (families). I ended up getting two of them as I dont want more then that on my walls. They are awesome and even come with pens. They are 11 X 14 and fit a 4 X 6 picture. PERFECT! |
