Wedding Cake
I am in LOVE .. with this cake :)

Hello fellow wedding-well-wishes!

I have been obsessing like mad since FH proposed, and I really feel like I've come a long way! Is this normal? Is it a bad sign that I know already what I want? Will I change my mind down the track?

Anywho - before I'm condemned and labelled as a crazy person, please just take some time to check out

THE
WEDDING
PILLOW
CAKE
!!!!

Remember - I'm all about bright colours, and I love the outside-the-norm idea of a pillow cake! Now to decide on a cake topper .. there's one pictured which I like, but it's not unique enough ...

The flavours? I'm thinking - top = white chocolate, middle = caramel mudcake, bottom = rich chocolate.

Any suggestions, guys, as to expanding this pillow cake idea as there's no way this baby will satisfy 500 cake-hungry guests :)

S xo

Just remembered! I went to a local bridal show and they had the craziest and coolest Indian-ish cake. It basically looked like a bridal trousseau with the jewelry sets in boxes and pillows coming out of boxes. I am so mad, I erased the pic from my phone but I'll try and google something similar. It was a big contest so perhaps I can find pics online!

http://blog.theukweddingshows.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Kuwait-Cake-5.jpg - take your idea and make it BIG lol - for 500 ppl - like so!

LOL Tashasita are you pulling my leg??? That first one is a cake? No WAY!!!!  It is amazing. Oh my gosh, looking closely at Ganeshji I'm guessing that part is all edible, too! Infreakensane!   Maaaan I wish there were awesome bridal shows here too, for the indian bride... I go to all the ones which sound good for inspiration anyways, thank you soooo much for your links!   P.S that Kuwait cake looks bigger than I am! Hahahah talk about overkill ;)  hilarious!   I think that I'll have some secretly average shaped cakes behind the scenes, with the same coloured icing .. once it's all cut up, the guests won't know the diff, yeah? ;)

Yeah you have great ideas! Yeah that first one is a cake and now that you mention it, Ganeshji does look edible... but wouldn't that be horribly inauspicious to eat that part?!

This cake is absolutely breaktaking! I love the uniquely designed cakes. Makes it more interesting!!!! LOVE IT!

What alot of us brides are doing these days is keeping your nice cake in the front, and then adding a sheet cake in the back for the servers to cut the cake and pass out later. After you and your FH cut your first slice/take the picture, the servers typically take your cake to the kitchen and slice them. Your guests will never have a clue that you had a sheet cake in the back. This is what we are doing to feed our guest cake as we have a large wedding now too. It went from 150 to now nearing 300! Ugh!!!
