How do you plan when you dont have the money yet?

Okay, so here is the deal:: My fiance and I are waiting to find out who is contributing what to our wedding. Also, we do not yet have the funds for what we ourselves will be responsible for paying. How do I go forward planning things for the wedding without even knowing what we are working with financially?! Keep in mind our wedding is only 5 months away! We are getting married on March 16th 2013 even if it means we show up in our PJ's!! ( A little exaggeration!!!) haha. Any help, always appreciated! God Bless You!

I'm doing the same thing but what I did was ask him what minimum amount monthly he and I can contribute to it we opened an account to do that monthly and base our budget on that. If there's any extra to contribute would go towards the wedding as well

That's great advice! I said recently we should open an account to put the money we are saving into.....but it was a thought that we did not follow through on....time for action! Minimum amount...perfect! Thanks! Sometimes the overwhelming feeling from planning makes me forget some common sense solutions!
