I posted a little while back how I was having trouble with my girls' flip flops. I ordered their flip flops from Old Navy and my first attempt to add my Swarovski rhinestones to the straps was a nightmare!! They came out really nice but when I tried walking around in one around the house a week later, to make sure the glue was set and dried, all the rhinestones came flying off everytime I bent my foot!! AHH!!
I was so annoyed that I took them all off and took a break from this project. I did some research online and found a different glue. The glue recommended using the glue on fabric when attaching rhinestones because the fabric will have more give and stick better...
My solution, and I hope it works, so far so good, was to wrap the strap of the flip flop with black ribbon and then attach the rhinestones. I glued the ribbon on with a hot glue gun and then attached the rhinestones to the ribbon with the special rhinestone glue.
I think they turned out great, this is a project I knew would give me issues and would be very time consuming so I wanted to start on them sooner than later.
What does everyone think??
These will also be added to their gift bags that I am putting together. I didn't want plain boring flops, I had to add some bling!
