This is dravensbaby's Blue Wedding!

It was definatly a labor of love. It took me weeks, and several trips to Hobby Lobby! But it is finished, and I love it!

Ok so the story is...my FH has been my best friend for about 5yrs. In 2008 he was planning on purposing to a girl he knows from camp(he used to spend his summers at a bible camp). They talked about it. Went ring shopping and started planning. Well in the end she called it off before they made it offical, but after he bought this beautiful ring.

Fastforwd to 2010 I am now divorced and him and I end up together. June(ish) we start discussing a wedding...then suprise we brought our beautiful daughter back form our summer camping trip! (I may never go camping again) He still has the ring. We discuss it and he tells me that we can trade it in for something else. I decided that she never got or even saw the ring in person, so I think I want to keep it.

Fastforward 2011 our beautiful daughter comes into the world. His grandpa get really sick a couple time this winter. We decide on a November wedding. He makes it offical!! YAY!!!

This ring it beautiful but I dont love it. It is soooooooo not my style. As well as the fact that I will not be able to wear a wedding band with it. Everytime someone asks around my ring it reminds me that my ring was not bought for me. I never thought that I would care this much. So now I think I want to have my ring reset. I go to the store where he bought it. I can trade it in, and get full value for a trade in, but I have to send twice the amount he originally paid!!!

I dont know what to do. He is amazing and says I should do what ever makes me happy and he doesnt care how much money it is. But I feel like a spoiled brat complaining about my engaement ring. But at the same time...I have to look at this ring for the rest of my life!!! What do you ladies think???

Now I

The last few days have been kinda busy. However I am happy to report that I have gotten a ton of stuff done! Caterer, reception venue, church, minister, dj are all booked! Menue is finished. Favors are in the works. Bridesmaids are all working on making appointment for fitting for their custom dresses. Grooms mother is working on her dress. Invatations are almost ready to go out. Center pieces have been decided on. Flowers are in the works. The only two big things I have left are the cake, and photographer. So far everything has gone very well, and I have spent less money then I bugeted for! I am a happy girl!

So with less then 6 months to go I decided to change EVERYTHING! I want a less formal more "home" like reception. So I decided that I wanted to fill jars with candies and cover the tops in MARPAT(Marnine patter) this is the same fabric that USMC cammies(camo) is made from. I am going to tie them with 550 cord.(como cord used by the military) So I started looking online...then I found blue jars that I LOVE! but they are almost $5 a piece so I decided to paint some clear jars! This is much easier said then done! I even managed to paint my ring, my shirt and my table!!! But now that I have the fist coat of paint on them and I could put it all together I am feeling much less stressed They turned out amazing! I love them. (remember this is just a mock-up I have to do all the little details yet) Take a look!

I found these online and they are amazing!!! I went to Maceys and had to order them!!! So Excited can't wait for them to get here!

OK so I guess I should strat by explaining.Fh and I decided to get married and started planning before the actual puposal.(there is a long backstory as to why). So last might I am working on the intive mock up and he made it offical!! It was low key simple and sweet. He kissed me and said I think we should do this for the rest of our lives!!! It was soooooo perfect! I dont like a lot of fuss and he got it just right. Now my cheeks hurt from smiling so much!

So my FH's grandfather(only living grandparent) has been really really sick! We were taling about it this weekend and I think that we are moving our wedding up a year. I will know for sure by tomorrow. But if we do for sure I will only have 6 months to plan a wedding with a guest list over 300. I may have to pull out some hair, but I have lots of support and lots and lots of help! So I need yall to to pray for me that I can make it through this next six months!

I was talking with my FMIL yesterday(she is making my dress) she found one that I love minus the ruffles. I hate ruffles!!! Even better she is not going to charge me ANYTHING!!! So I get a custom made gown and it is going to be FREE. As well as all of my flowergirls dresses. That comes out to be 6 dresses for nothing at all. and My bridesmaids are only looking at $125 for custom gowns!!! So I feel a little better about the budget. YAY
