The Proposal

wow am i behind on blogging....my beau....proposed on March 6th 2010! he completely surprised me....it was the day of my sister in laws baby shower and we also had scheduled to see a wedding venue later than evening, well i was feeling bad about leaving the baby shower so told FH to just cancel appt but he said no that he lived too far so we had to take advantage of him being in town...
well i was reluctant but we left to the jefferson street mansion in benecia, a girl dream wedding location! its gorgeous....and we got a tour of the location, after the girl was done she told me shed hang on to my camera to take pictures of us so we could get a feel for the venue, but then she went to the bathroom, i thought maybe she was trying to steal the camera haha...well FH wanted to go the third floor where theres a balcony overlooking the bay and a beautiful orchid garden as well and there as the sun was setting he asked me why i loved him, and he told me why he loved me then as he bent down to kiss me i felt him reach for somethin that was stuck in his inner jacket pocket, my heart mustve stopped for a second as i realized what he was doing....then he gets down on one knee and asked me to make him the happiest man ever and marry him!! AHHHH!!! OMG!!! i couldnt believe it....i even asked him if he was sure i was soo surprised, i wasnt expecting him to propose for some time.... so of course i told him yes a thousand times after asking him if he was sure haa.... then after the lady who gave the tour gave us some time alone she came out to the balcony with champagne and congrats. after we left on our way back to the baby shower i asked him if my family knew and he said no it was a surprise, and i was itching to text them!! but he told me to wait....then all of sudden he gets a migraine! he hadnt had one in over 5 years!! eek so we pull over on freeway and i have to drive, i told him we should get go to my house so he can rest but he insists on going back to baby shower, so as hes having a full blown out migraine we arrive and SURPRISE! a suprise engagment party is going on for us with both of our families...i just FH duck and beeline for the bathroom where he was sick all night vt and with migraine :(.....while i tend to the family, the funny thing is that every saw his expression as he walked in and my concern and thought i had said no to him! haha |

ivory and red...add champagne or black?
its soo hard for me to decide on a more traditional style, or more vintage, or more modern...ugh but i just know i love the soft ivory (I HATE white) with the deep red tones....what do u ladies think? i found an inspiration board that added black and it looked very elegant and dramatic, and those three colors are actually the colors of my room...very "memoirs of a geisha" (old hollywood) whereas i really love the golds and champagne colors as a softer classic style...like my bathroom and decorated...very french...ahhh!

Wedding Reception
perfection!!
I'll post pix soon...I found the place! Talk bout early plannin...I found the perfect place for the reception...totally classic and vintage style...the mansion at green valley golf course...a beautiful stone mansion with the perfect low lighting and gorgeous lush green landscaping of the golf course...somehow were gonna manage makin the guest list to 250...easier said than done.
and the coordinator is soo flexible and willing to work wit us. ahh why are weddings soo expensive?? The budget I had planned totally under wat were gonna spend..crazy yay!! We just need to put a deposit and start saving!! |

Bridesmaids
ahh considering major color change!!
ok so my MOH and a BM went with me today and my to get my dress...i was showing them the dressed i had liked for them...the tea length ones and they said they had thought i would choose a floor length dress..which is fine with me i guess i want them to be happy and look good...so maybe this dress....idk maybe it looks too ballroom and less BM?!...
and then i saw the perfect champagne color which is a lil more gold/bronze than the champagne i have here with the pic, i couldnt find it online o well....but my dress is ivory with bronze/champagne detailing..so idk what color would look best...and i still love the red but we were looking at a may wedding and my champagne and roses are more fall...does it matter? who cares right its just a color? but THEN!!! i saw the beautiful dress in sangria and now im like whoa thats pretty AND may i think...idk... HELP! anyone have any ideas. am i stressing the whole may mean spring colors....does the red trump the sangria...and my champagne idk i wish i could post the actual color. this is why i plan way way in advance =) |

Wedding Dress
I FOUND THE ONE!!
wow wow...i found my dress..and its paid for!!! i cant believe it...i found a dress online that a friend showed me and i was in love..ive been checkin on it and the price went down to ridiculous cheap!! so here i am forever before my wedding setting up an appt to go look the dress and low and behold i get there and 4 hours later i havent even tried on the dress i went for and instead i found IT!! my dress...beauty and simplicity all together...
it took a lot of dresses...but it was the 3rd on i had tried...why did i bother with the rest?? i thought i was gonna leave there without knowing...but considering i found it soo fast...YAY!! and then the lady had me close my eyes as she placed my tiara, veil, cathedral veil and blusher and when i opened my eyes...there i was...a blushing dreaming bride looking into a mirror...realizing i was all grown up and in love...and then i look to the side in the mirror and saw my mom in back and it was like i was torn in two...wondering how was i ever gonna let go...shes what ive always known...but maybe i dont have to....my heart is mishaels...but no one replaces a mother.... and she was soo sweet and enjoying my happiness.... how did i get so lucky with her? and all i can think is what will mishael think as he sees me walk down the isle toward him, my future... the dress and the veils are very powerful and emotional things..i feel a mix of emotions writing this as i did when i was trying it on... does anyone know what i mean?? WOW!!! |
