Chocolate Fountain & Coffee DIY
I've purchased My own off ebay in attempt to save $$$
So, I've purchased a commercial 60 cup coffee maker and a Rival 5 pound chocolate fountain off of ebay so as to save the hundreds of dollars that could possibly be charged from a caterer for the two. I bought the 60 cup coffee maker for $30.00, and the chocolate fountain for $22.00 (total! shipping is included in those prices :) !)
I've found a cool website for liquid chocolate for the fountains so that there is no mess & no fuss when putting it together. You simply poor the chocolate in the fountain withought any preperation. It's $4.25 a pound or so.

With my 65-75 guests this shouldn't be too hard to pull all of this off. I will be having hired college students at an hourly rate to assist in preparation & such.

Thank you for the link! i also bought a home use chocolate fountain for $50 from Wal-Mart. We just tested it out this weekend at my parents 25th Anniversary party, and we used chocolate wafers from bulk barn. It tasted amazing, but it didn't flow smoothly. I'm definitely going to try the liquid!

the only thing about a chocolate fountain is that you have to maintain it b/c it get's cold and when it gets cold it gets hard.  You have to keep it liquidfied by adding oil and the oil has to be tempered.  It's a total mess with out an attendant.  But I just read that you will hire a student to deal with that and it will be an awesome deal!  I would've loved one for mine and so we brought one to test it out last year but we quickly got turned off about the whole idea.  Good luck!

I loove the chocolate fountain! I can't have it at my reception, because we can only use the fountain they provide at the venue, and the charge $7 PER PERSON!! Times 130 people, that's CRAZY!

I'm happy that you get to have one though! I wanted to have one with milk chocolate and another with pink chocolate (white chocolate colored pink!)
