2 Days to go!
But last minute drop outs getting me down
Hi Ladies, only 2 days til my wedding! Had a really hectic week this week so far with loads of appointments, hair cut / dye, dentist to have my teeth cleaned, mani and pedi, fittings and loads more. Got the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner tommorow then taking all my wedding decoration stuff and honeymoon bags to the hotel on Friday, not mention dropping my beloved doggy of at my friend's house as she's watching him while we're on honeymoon. I'm really excited!
But been pretty stressed out this week as after finishing everything, table plans, favors, place cards, everything..I've had at least 5 guests text me to tell me they can't make the wedding. Some as late a yesterday! I think it's just rude to accept an invitation and then drop out right at the last minute, for stupid excuses like "I'm broke and can't afford to come" I'm like'Huh? It's free food, free drink...what the hell does being broke have to do with it!' Doesn't seem to matter to people that I've already paid for thier meals, drinks packages and chair covers for the exact right amount of people, and I'm going to have to redo the table plan AGAIN! I guess you just realise who your real friends are sometimes. Am I being petty by being annoyed by this?? Anyways ladies I'll be back in touch again before the wedding, hope all planning going well for everyone! |

Finished Candy buffet - mock-up
Hi Ladies, well I'm on to my last DIY projects now with only 5 days to go. Today I've been putting the candy buffet together. I bought all of my jars from Ikea very cheaply, ranging from £1-£4 each. I designed and printed the labels for the jars myself and stuck them on with glue. Also tied ribbons around the jars and scoops. Got the silver scoops from ebay. Great find!
I made my SWEET sign using cardboard letters that I painted to match the aqua theme, and on the day I'm going to put the buffet on a blue table cloth and include a balloon cluster behind the candy with the words 'candy bar' on them. Candy buffets aren't often done in the UK so I want to make sure my guests realise what it is! hehe. I think it looks great but I'm sure it'll look even better on a round table all decorated. What do you ladies think? |

Wedding Hair Style
Hair & Makeup Trial
Hi Ladies, I've been to the salon today fro my hair trial and then my makeup artist has been to my house for my makup trial. My Hair style is actually different to what I originally had in my head but on the stylist's suggestion I tried this and I actually really love it! The pics I've posted here are the style but without extensions in. I'm going to have clip in hair extensions to make the curls longer and fuller at the back.
I really love my makeup trial! There's nothing I would really change about it except possibly slightly lighter lipstick. All in all quite a succesful trial, can't wait to see everything together on the 17th! |

Thank you Parasol - Jumping on the bandwagon!
Inspired by all you ladies and the lovely thank you parasol's you have I decided to DIY myself a one. Got the paper parasol from
http://www.brolliesgalore.co.uk/ It was about £10 including postage and packaging. Then got a lovely font from http://1001free fonts.com called chopin script which I printed out at 400pt. I was going to stick this to the back of parasol and trace through but it didn't work out as the centre section of the parasol was in the way at the back. So I had to just freehand copy the text with a pencil. Then I just painted the words with a very thin brush and some black acrylic paint. Overall it cost £12 to do and is going to be great for my thank you cards, once again thanks ladies for your constant great ideas and inspiration!! |

Candy Buffet Table Sign and Table plan
Hi Ladies!
Just thought I'd show you two of my latest DIY projects, I've been doing loads lately and I'm going to try to get the rest uploaded of the next few days but these two are to start. DIY candy bar sign : I was originally going to try to build the cardboard letters myself and got some old cardboard boxes to make them. But then I came across these cardboard letters ready made at a carft store. All I did then was paint them with pretty blue and white patterns and bam all done! Think the 'SWEET' sign is going to be a great addition to my candy buffet table. DIY Table plan: Did this totally from scratch, got the fram from a car boot sale for £4. It was an old mirror in gold. So I took the mirror out of the fram, painted the frame blue and then white over the blue. I then scartched away some of the white with foil to show the blue through and make it look old and shabby chic. I got a big peice of thin card for the background, and then basically printed out the different parts on to white card, backed them on to blue card and stuck them down. I raised the titles up with little peices of foam so they stood out and decorated the whole thing with little blue bows and diamantes. I think it turned out great!! I really love doing DIY projects for the wedding, can't wait to see it all together on the day! What do you ladies think of them? |

Also here's my frames that I've been collecting from car bootsales. I've painted them with blue acrylic and then white over the top, then scrathed offsome of the white with a peice of foil to show the blue through and give them a shabby chic look! They just need the table nunbers and table plan for the big one and they'll be finished! Hope you ladies like all my recent projects, let me know what you think! PS can't beleive it's only 5 and a half weeks til my wedding! |
