First dance...Romantic and emotional or fun and funky?

Hi ladies!

Am trying to decide which song to go for for our first dance. I'm totally in love with the song "Flightless bird, American mouth" by Iron and Wine from the Twilight soundtrack. I think it's beautifull, romantic and meaningfull. But my OH has his heart set on The Robbie Williams version of 'Ain't that a kick in the head' as it's quite fun and upbeat. I love both, but think it should be more romantic. Have a listen using these links and let me know, which one do you think? Thanks ladies xx

i'm quite biased bc "ain't that a kick in the head" was done by dean martin and it fits into our swing theme (even tho it was recorded in 1960). we're thinking about using it for our entrance bc of the awesome horn section at the beginning. i also like it as a first dance because its got an awesome rhythm and i think your guests would get a "kick" out of it :)

as a compromise could you use your song as the first dance and his song as your entrance?

I thought I had a brilliant idea to help you out with this one, but it seems Sarahdarling is more brilliant than me . . . :o)I agree - can you use Ain't That for an entrance and Flightless Bird for a dance?

ooo I love that idea! I never even thought about an entrance song! love it, love it!

I am SO for Flightless Bird. It's one of my options except I know my FH won't want it :( So we'll probably just have it as a normal dance song. Also, not sure if you do any ballroom dancing (we do) but Flightless Bird is a quick waltz and when I hear it I want to waltz SO BAD. haha. Maybe you can do a combo, especially if you have a good DJ or if you have a friend who can edit 2 sound files and make them match so you can have both. :)
