Ask a Question
Heartbreak Again

UGH why is the happening again?! I was just all excited on my post earlier today about my parents booking the venue and the caterer. WELL they didnt ask if the chapel was even open in the winter! They're only open april to october! So not only can I not get married at the most gorgeous chapel I've seen in maine, BUT we are now stuck with the caterer and reception hall! We HAVE to find a church close to the reception hall now! I had another church in mind if it didnt work out, but now with the reception hall booked, its over an hour and a half drive between the two! I am so upset I could cry right now! I really wish my parents would look before they lept, they assured me it was open in the winter.

The only reason why I'm posting this in ask a question is I need some help from Maine ladies. Do any of you know where an nice church/chapel is to get married? I am Native American myself, and do not believe in God (no insult meant), my FH does believe in God, but does not belong to a specific faith. Thanks so much ladies for listening. <3

I'm perfectly fine with having my reception at a gold course, but I don't think I would want to get married there. The building is very small, and I don't want to have my guests sit outside. I will still talk to my parents to see if they have another building I can use, thanks for the tip <3

aaaw sweetie, im so sorry =(..I dont live in maine nor know anything out there, so im not much of any help...but I know Id be devastated too if I had booked everything around the place I had my heart set on only to find out I couldnt have that place after all...since its not religious maybe you could look into some alternatives instead of a chapel  thats close by ,if that is an option or does it have to be in a church or chapel? you vould look into close by places like a pavilion, some major libraries believe it or not have beautiful spots indoor and outdoor to wed ( over here where I live there is famous library where people always get married and its absolutely beautiful) maybe look into some hotel banquet rooms and turn it into a temporary chapel ( hey some hotels have very snice elegant rooms), galleries, museums, things like that? not too sure whats out there or whats close by. well Im sure it will all work out for you some how =)

There are no libraries big enough near by. The only reason why we were going with a chapel or chruch is because its normally cheaper to rent out. There isn't really much in Saco, its a fairly small town. I know most of the hotels close in the winter there because its a tourist town mostly. There is another place I'm thinking of at the moment, if it isnt to far of a drive. I don't want people driving an hour in the middle of winter just in case there is a storm. Thanks for the ideas <3
