Bridesmaids
First pick of dresses
Well, this is the first round of the dresses I have chosen. We hare having a very small ceremony, about 40 people max. I am only having one bridesmaid, my sister <3 Sense she is the only one, we have been working together to pick out some dresses, I am letting her have alot of freedom with what she wants to wear.We have both decided on trying to match the color of her dress to the color of mine. I will be posting later about the coverage options for these dresses, I don't want my only sister to freeze to death! So I was just looking for some of you ladies imput on the dresses :)

Ask a Question
Hair
Oh boy, This is my major area of concern. My hair has been 2 feet long or longer for at least 10 years, and the only ways I ever wear it is down, or up in a pony tail. My hair is extremely hard to style, its long, thus heavy, and pin strait. It never holds a curl, and when I wake up in the morning, it looks like I just spent an hour straitening my hair. I've given up on trying to style it because it takes so much mousse, gel, and hair spray to get it to stay. Now, getting to the point, I'm looking for a hair style that I can keep my hair down, but still look like I took some time to make myself look different. Any websites or photos will be much appreciated!

Wedding Dress
Coats
I will admit, I am very nervous about the the coat with whatever dress I may pick. I don't want to be freezing, but I also don't want to take away from the beauty of the dress. I do love the fur one, and I think it would be perfect for a winter theme, but I'm concerned it would be to tacky or gaudy. The lace one it beautiful as well, but I'm not sure how warm it would keep me. I do love how its cut though, it seems like it would sit at the top of the dress no matter what one I picked. If only I could combine them! lol

Wedding Dress
I think this may be the one...
I saw this one and fell in love! I love the back and the detail so much, not to mention is about $200 cheaper than the other ones! I couldn't get the color i wanted in the front view, but I could in the back.

Wedding Dress
The first two picks
I know it may be a little far out to start thinking of the wedding dress, but I can't help but look! I've found two so far online that I will be trying on as soon as I can get out to Maine. I figure it would be easier to buy the dress in Maine, and have the alterations done there instead of getting it here, and having it shipped out or take it with me on the plane, its a very scary thought I don't want it damaged. Not to mention the sales tax in Maine verses California is 5% lol. With the dress with colored detail, it would be done in blue. What shade of blue will be decided when I see the dress in person. As for the all white one, I loooove the lace, but I'm concerned that it would be to light weight from reading the reviews. I've already been looking into shawls for the strapless one, and will be posting them at a later date.

The location
Sense we're having a winter wedding, it was hard to try to find some place that would be warm enough for all my guests, but a place they wouldn't mind staying inside. On the other hand, I wanted to have outdoor winter activities. I found a perfect balance with this location. This place seems to good to be true, and we're thinking of having our honeymoon here too. Sledding, cross country skiing, horse drawn sleighs, its amazing!!! Nothing is set in stone yet, but this in my favorite location so far. We would be having the reception in the same place, as well as having our guests staying the night.

The Proposal
How it all began
Well funny story how me and my fiancee met. I used to play World of Warcraft A-L-O-T, and happened to meet a sweet guy to play with on the server I played on. His name is Robert (AKA Oblix), and was serving in the Navy on a submarine stationed in Hawaii.
Over the next few months we talked alot and got to know each other really well. He eventually coaxed my number out of me, and there was alot of late night conversations. I lived in Maine at the time, and the time difference is 6 hours between there and Hawaii (luckily enough I am a night owl). As time progressed, he asked me out, and I thought it would be a fun thing to try. He asked me out February 2010, and came to meet me in April 2010. We hit it off sooooo well, we had such a fantastic time. I knew when he left, I had to do everything and anything to be with him, so given he was to low of a rank to move out on his own, we decided to get married to get around the policy. We were going to get married in August 2010, but he was diagnosed with asthma, and was discharged from the military. So, what was a girl to do. His hometown was in Northern California, so he went back to collect benefits, and go to school. That left us in a pickle. He on the westcoast, and I on the east. He couldn't come to me, so in October 2010, I decided it would be for our best interest for me to move from my little town of 3,000 people in Maine to San Francisco California. Talk about a culture shock! I was very nervous about moving across the united states. It was my first time being on a plane, so that didn't help my nerves either, but the moment I saw him and was in his arms again, I realized how totally worth it it was. We've been planning another wedding ever sense he was discharged, and finally got the finances in order to put the gears in motion. We are getting married January 2012, and we couldn't be happier :) |
