Honeymoon
Hawaii
We have decided to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon instead of Mexico.
For one, the price difference is not that great between the two places and secondly.... no passport required! Since we have procrastinated on this entire wedding planning we haven't gotten our passports... so we are sticking to the US only. Anyone have travelled to Hawaii before and want to offer up some good pointers? Which island is best? Which isn't? We were thinking Waikiki, but not sure if that's too touristy. But I think we want to be near the action for our honeymoon... lots of activities and most important... plenty of beer! |

Wedding Dress
Tea length and simple
Ok, here it is... Woke up this morning and realized I only have about two and a half months left before the big day and I haven't done anything. Mainly because we don't really know where we'll get married (scraped the bed and breakfast idea and are thinking about a friends back yard).
So here's what I ordered from David's Bridal today. Hopefully the reviewers are correct and it's perfect for me. Oh and I got in Ivory since I'm so fair skinned. I absolutely love the blue flower background. I'm going to print these on postcards and mail out soon! As soon as we truly confirm the wedding date this weekend with our venue that is. |

Anyone considering silk flowers vs. real?
Just wondering if anyone is considering silk flowers vs. traditional real flowers?
We live in a small town and the options for florists is limited. Just curious if anyone has gone "fake" with their flowers. Some perks with the silk flowers is they will obviously live beyond a few days after the wedding. Anyways... need your thoughts. |

Got these at Target today and thought they were so cute. Instead of a the black ribbon, I think I'll go with blue that I also picked up.
Insanely cheap and insanely cute! Will post pics when I get them printed with the new ribbon. But I'm still 152 days away, so I think I'm good on time! |

Honeymoon
Fun in the sun baby!
We originally thought we could somehow afford and have enough vacation time from our respective jobs to have a honeymoon in Ireland. HA! That's about $15,000 more than we want to spend or have the money for.... such is life.
So we will probably be going to Jamaica or the Riveria Maya in Mexico. I saw another bride's post for vacationtravelmart.com and they have great deals! And they are a little more down to earth in pricing for us. So.... what I am saying is that I've got to start working on my base tan. As you can see from my picture, I am very pale and don't tan easy. If I start in January, then maybe by May I'll be a little bit of a senorita! Oh yeah and I might have to get toned up too.... this is hard work! |

Hold the Phone!!
Color Change??
In speaking with my fiance last night with family at Christmas, he informed me he does not like green! GREAT!
His mother even agreed that he's never liked green..... all the wind in my sails flopped. So, he likes maroon, blue, or black. Won't do maroon, my sister's wedding was maroon. Silly reason? I don't think so. Blue is my birthstone, September, but I'm not real keen on blue. It's just okay for me. So it's down to black and white, with an accent color.... maybe green?? I absolutely love black and white together, I wear it alot, it's a beautiful combo. BUT we are having a summer wedding, outdoors, so that's why I picked green. So ladies, I think I'm going with black and white. ***UPDATE: Drum roll please.... the latest and greatest color scheme is now, black, white (or ivory, not sure) and ocean blue. I think I need to create an inspiration board. |

This is hard!
Here are some photos of cakes I like so far. Problem... I live in a really tiny town and there are very few cake decorators to choose from. I rely solely on Wal-Mart for my birthday cakes... yikes!
