Honeymoon
Just wondering...

Just curious where everyone is going on their honeymoons? Im thinking about Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. How soon should we order our passports? Or should I say what is too late?

I like Punta Cana...it was very pretty & service was very good. You can find alot of all inclusive resorts. You can't drink the water......not sure if it still true.....I want 5 years ago. I would order passport 2-3 months ( or more) before trip. If you wait later you'll have to pay express fees.

Good Luck!!!!

We are going on a Caribbean Cruise Honeymoon in March, with stops in Belize (we plan to zipline here), Roatan, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel (we are going to swim with dolphins here) sooo excited!

Good to know about getting the passports SO early...we are exactly 4 months to the day away from leaving for ours...so we will get on those passports pronto ;P Thanks for posting this!

By the way...that picture really caught my eye..if that's the resort you're looking at-it looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

We are doing a 7 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise Jan. 2-9!!!! It can't get here soon enough!!!!!!

As for passports...the sooner the better. They tell you it will take at least 6-8 weeks...I've known people to get it in a few weeks and others more like 8-12 weeks. You can look everything up online for what you all need and Walgreens is a great place to get your pics (bc they have to be a certain size and such so it can't be something you do yourself...they are only like $8-$10. Most places where you do the passport (lots of post offices do) can do your photo too it just costs more than walgreens.

we went to Aruba for our honeymoon and we LOVED it. we got our passports 8 months before the wedding to be absolutely sure we had them. We ended up receiving them in the mail 6 days after we applied for them! It might have been a slow time of the year for passports since we went in January

We are going to Jamaica!

We took awhile to choose the honeymoon destination (his first priority!).... but decided on Jamaica because it fits nicely into our budget., and it's gorgeous!

Now we just have to figure out WHERE in Jamaica we would like to go...

Punta Cana is awesome! You and your hubby will have a great time relaxing under the sun. Make sure you have your passport no later than six months before the trip to ensure that you dont experience any delays.

We are going on a 7-Day Cruise out of Miami, FL in January 3, 2010. With the holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas) we ordered our passports Nov 10 with expedite service. Door to door, we received them on Nov 17. That was an amazing 10 day turn-around. It did cost us a good chunk, the expedited service for my fiance and I was $161/each + passport photos. We dropped $340 total. Complete the application and go to your nearest clerk of courts office and they submit it for you. Dont forget any documentation.
