What a surprise! I'm sticking to my original idea, I'm going back to my original colours of Silvers with white accents and Eggplant purple Bridesmaids!

I'm really excited about the colours now but I don't know what to do about my girls' dresses. I originally wanted short bridesmaid dresses, even though it's winter, so that I could put them in Uggs for outdoor photos. My girls I assume, well one in particular, want long dresses for the cold.

Does anyone have experience with short dresses in the winter???

Wedding Dress

Swan Princess I know...

So here's the general idea of the kind of dress that I want to wear. Something with layered vertical tulle or organza. I'm looking for the whole Swan Princess Type look but modern. Heidi Montag's dress...I know.

I like Heidi's dress, though it is supposed to be a sping dress the layered tulle, to me, looks like winter snow. I dunno, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ines Di Santo makes some fabulous layered tulle dresses as well. Vero is very nice but I have seen others in magazines I have loved but nothing current is online...that I can find anyways.

The Proposal

March 28th, 2009

The morning we got engaged I was awoken by my now FH letting me know that I had 1 hour to get ready. I needed to pack something casual, something dressy and something I could get dirty in.

I had been begging him for weeks to bring me paintballing so I thought this was all a clever ruse to get me to go there. I was wrong.

I packed my bag and we started driving. We drove all the way to Toronto and stopped at the CN Tower. I thought this was a layover until paintballing began. Again, I was wrong. He proposed at the top of the CN Tower at the lookout point. We were surrounded by hundreds of tourists who did not speak english, he was no expecting this on a sunny saturday afternoon. lol

Afterwards we went back to our hotel where he had a massage and facial appointment waiting for me . After that we went to dinner then back to the hotel for a swim in the pool and a nice sit in the roof top hot tubs. It was quite the night despite no paint balling. lol

Bridesmaids

Dresses

So I am still mulling the dresses over as I do have a TONNE of time and still 1 more bridesmaid to name.

I have however chosen that I will be having 3 of my bridesmaids in deep Eggplant purple and 2 of them (sisters) in Raspberry. LOVE!

On the Groomsmen side I will have the 2 brothers in Raspberry as well, vests maybe, and then the rest in the Eggplant.

Anyways, the 1st dress is a Bari J dress. I love the style and have had one of my bridesmaids try it on. She also loved it and thought all girls would look fab in as everyone has a different body type. I agree, what do you think? She also mentioned that i was by far the most comfortable as it was not strapless. no surprise.

The 2nd dress I love everything about it but have read on another blog that Winnie Couture dresses are not good quality yet still expensive so yeah I guess I won't be buying that. I love the colour and sweetheart neckline on it though, I think I am getting over the pick ups though.

The 3rd dress is another Winnie Couture, it just in there for the colour raspberry. I think it looks deeper than it should but you know what I mean.

First Dance

Mario Kart Love Song

So I somehow found this song on Youtube and absolutely loved it for a first dance song. I saved it to show it to my Fiance and he immediately kiboshed it...

I thought it was sooooo cute and for anyone else who has a Video Game loving FH i thought that this was probably the one game couples actually play together and actually enjoy.

Anyways I thought I would share it with everyone else to see if they could use it.

P.S. Don't think I'm crazy, I have seen Mario and Princess Wedding cakes!

Wedding Reception

General Reception Ideas

So here is just an idea of what I want our reception to feel/look like. I want everything to be very wintery'icy but also modern. I think this photo is maybe a little overwhelming but like I said just a general idea.

I want NOTHING Christmasy and NO Snowflakes.

Everything is going to be Silver and Icy with some colour accents here and there. BIG fan of the lighting and the twig centerpieces.

Our hall is not going to fully draped like this though. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are of our actual hall. The 2 side walls are brick with double doors along them which I will leave untouched as they look onto a park which will (hopefully) be covered in snow. The wall in which the photos are taken from is the wall that I will have my head table and backdrop on. The ceiling is going to be fully draped as well. It took some imagination on my end and a very beautiful wedding to finally make me fall in love with this hall...but it did happen. YAY!
