THE (elusive) Dress...

UPDATE — (11/20/09) Many thanks to Christine, who left a comment with a link to a Pronovias dress that looks (I think :(!) remarkably like my dress, only in satin instead of silk.

A mysterious dress indeed...

I wasn't expecting much when I went into my first trying on dresses session with my mother- and sister-in-law to be. I didn't believe in this legend of The dress, but I figured I could find a dress that I was happy with. Crisis alert: I forgot my camera!

I was sad without the camera, but didn't let that stop me. I probably tried about 25-30 dresses. I knew I did want to try this one dress on that I saw from the Pronovias site that kind of caught my eye. The girl who was helping me told me it was the most expensive dress in the store... urgh...

The next dress I tried on was something my MIL and SIL had picked out knowing that I had been interested in that dress. It was similar in parts, and from 2Be Bride, and much cheaper. I examined it, not really thinking it was any more exceptional than the other dresses... so I slipped it on and... I grinned. I liked all the dresses I'd tried on, but I hadn't grinned.

I later went to the website so that I could show my dress to my far-flung bridesmaids. No pictures, but surely I could send them a photo of it on a model. But no! I searched, and I searched... The dress was nowhere to be found (they have since updated their site, and still it isn't there). I checked everywhere, including other bridal sites. I have probably sifted through thousands of dresses (not kidding) trying to find it.

So of course, now I am worried the dress will come and it won't be the one that made me grin. I feel like it's a dress from the Twilight Zone.

The worst part is, I cannot remember what it looks like anymore! I only remember parts of it... like subtle beading just on the bodice, and a dropped waist, and those little buttons up the back. I also have this terrible yellowy colour in my head and I'm so worried it's going to come in all wrong...

This is probably a completely unreasonable fear, I know. But it still nags at me... Anyway, I've attached a few images of what I think are dresses close to what The dress looks like. Enjoy piecing together the puzzle! ;) lol!
