Favours
Eco-friendly and cost effective!
I've been planning to do a favour box pyramid and double that as a centrepiece (see inspiration board below) to save on costs, but wanted an eco-friendly option for the boxes, since my "green" wedding is not just about colour!

I came across autumnp's blog saying she was addicted to Save-on-Crafts.com. Turns out they have seed paper boxes! This means the guests would be able to rip up their boxes and plant them, and flowers will grow. I have really wanted something like this for favours!

I also found seed paper cones. They are cheaper, and I think I could still use these as a centrepiece if I could arrange the cones in some small vases (rented preferably), one for each table. I would probably tie them with a ribbon instead of using the sticker example, and I would probably fill them with candy (if I could find an eco-friendly tissue paper, I will also be using that to separate the candy from the seed paper).

I believe that the paper used for the boxes and cones is 50% recycled.

I thought you might be interested to know that my latest book, "How To Get Married In Green: have an eco-friendly wedding without compromising on style," was published in North America last month. In it I have outlined a number of ideas for green wedding favours.

You can read more about it here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Get-Married-Green-Eco-friendly/dp/1845282701/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195123385&sr=1-1

...although of course the book is available on all Amazons, not just the UK version, and will be in most good book stores.

I also run an associated blog where readers can post questions as comments, or email me with them, about how to make their wedding or other celebration more eco-friendly. I then respond on the blog. That's here:

With all good wishes, SUZE.
