Market Place
selling Kenneth Pool "Aria" gown, petticoat and cathedral white veil
I'm selling all my wedding gear. I'm a NYC bride who values her closet space more than sentimentality for wedding stuff. So here's your chance to capitalize on the opportunity!
SELLING: Kenneth Pool (designed by Project Runway star, Austin Scarlett) "Aria" ballgown with cathedral train and antique crystal detailing under bust, at dropped waist and train poof. It's simply stunning and you'll feel like a glamorous bride in it for sure! Sz. 4 and left unaltered. (I'm a street size 4 as well). Needs cleaning (used once by me last weekend) but I figure it will be cheaper for you to do the cleaning at your favorite spot than for me to do it here and pass along the NYC cost to you. Price: $2500 (retails for $6000). If you prefer me to clean it before shipping, the dress will then run $3000. Petticoat - though the dress already comes with one, I bought an extra one for added fullness and drama. I'll sell it off to you for just $30. white veil - cathedral length and simple enough not to distract from the dress. It is on a hair comb that has a velcro piece so that the blusher can be worn with it or not. $50 (a steal!!) and it's in perfect condition. |

DIY Wedding
free downloadable wedding templates!
ATTENTION DIY-ers!
http://design.jodyprouse.com/freebies/templates.html This site has lots of helpful templates to download for free. I'm currently designing water bottle labels with the help of an etsy artist for a $10 design fee. (Merrymint designs). She is incorporating all the design elements of our invites and other paper products for a cohesive look. ('cuz I can't work with photoshop or Adobe!) And I plan to purchase the sticky waterproof paper from igage.com Now I just have to figure out how to store all the water bottles, transport and keep them cold. |

30days before the wedding
http://vimeo.com/12829282
The engaged couples planning weddings featured in this video all seem so stressed out. I'm 30days before the wedding, am doing all my wedding planning on my own with no bridal party help and am still loving the process. Everyone keeps waiting for me to be stressed out but I don't think I'll ever get there! I guess it helps that I plan events for a living. How are you all doing? Are there any other brides with a July wedding here? My ethnic ceremony is June 24 and my NYC American wedding is July 3rd, both are right around the corner! |

Wedding Photography
photo signs
Is anyone else here making photo signs to pose with? For one of my DIY photo opp areas, I'm creating photo signs that match my invitation set. They will be placed with fun props such as mustache sticks, top hats, vintage and opera length gloves, tiaras and more.
I can't figure out what I want to do for the background and camera setup. Should I spend the additional money for a fabric damask backdrop? If so how would i hang it up within a ballroom that won't allow anything to be hung off their walls? should I simply shoot against the ballroom wall and if so how do I make the area stand out to encourage people to pose for the camera? And I have a slr camera, tripod and remote control but how do I instruct people without having someone actually have to stand there the whole time to assist? How would i prevent the remote control from being lost? looking for suggestions Also, if you want the high res versions of these signs, message me and I'd be happy to sell them all for $5. |

Wedding Photography
DIY photo wall plans
Everyone that knows me knows that I'm crazy about photos. I capture and chronicle my whole life through them and rely on them to help me remember the details of my past. So it only makes sense that photography would be a big part of my wedding focus.
I've already hired a fabulous photography/videography team and now am looking to take on a couple DIY projects. One of them is this fun photo wall. I found instructions on how to build it here http://ruffledblog.com/diy-photobooth-vintage-wallpaper-frame-wall-backdrop/ How much do you think it would cost to hire someone to create it for me (assuming I get him all the frames and wallpaper) and he is responsible for the creation and delivery? I think this would be such a memorable part of the evening. I'm so bored of all the traditional rented photo booths. |

Bridal Shower plans
Always a Bridesmaid Bridal Shower theme
Have you seen the movie, 27 dresses where Katherine Hiegl's closet nearly bursts open with all her old bridesmaid dresses nearly tumbling at her?
Well this image and the idea that all my girlfriends have been a bridesmaid at one time or another came to mind as I was deciding who to choose for my bridal party. In the end, I decided to spare my friends the embarrassment of having to wear that wear-once, ugly bridesmaid dress by making them all my honorary bridesmaids while having all the focus be on my fiancee and myself. I'm an event planner by trade so I don't really need all the usual help a normal bride might want. In fact, I hardly want to give up the event planning duties at all! So much so that I'm already planning my own bridal shower theme and details. I quickly drafted a makeshift invite (see picture) which explains the "always a bridesmaid theme" and asks each honorary bridesmaid to wear a bridesmaid dress (from their past) to my bridal shower (and never again). I think it will be a great photo opportunity to get the whole group in mismatched, outdated, sometimes embarrassing bridesmaid outfits. I have my tripod and photo props ready to go! (photo props to include tiaras, feather boas, bridal magazines, top hats etc). Here are some notes I jotted down regarding the party planning. let me know if you have anything else to add! Have 27 dresses playing in the background during party Make tea sandwiches and have bite-sized appetizers and desserts displayed on cupcake tower with an elegant tea setup Create Best bridesmaid quiz and Bridesmaid bingo with gem stickers as bingo spots Personalized bottle water Ribbon wedding bell and program assembly task Chair backs named bridesmaid Encourage bridesmaids to sign guestbook with favorite memory of the bride |

Wedding Flowers
succulents
I can NOT decide what I want for my bouquet! First, I thought i wanted metallic sprayed babys breath topped with white plume feathers. Then I discovered brooch bouquets and was sure I needed to have one. Now, I'm considering succulents!
There are so many beautiful choices! Is anyone else feeling torn? I feel like I've been looking at flowers for months and am disappointed in myself that I haven't arrived at a final decision. |
