I have to be brutally honest. Almost EVERY sit down wedding dinner I have eaten has been horrible. You have to try and choke it down because you know they spent $$$ on feeding you!
I am going to have heavy hors d'oeuvres, candy and a chocolate fountain (& a cake of course). After we pick out the apps. I will put up a list. In general we want the recpetion to have more of a party vibe.
A fabulous party for 200 (yes 200) of our closest friends and family! We have HUGE families!
We have so many apple orchards up here I was thinking of adding some caramel/chocolate/nut covered apples to the chocolate fountain/dessert table!
I hear ya! I can count on one hand how many sit down dinners have been good. You really have to check it all out in advance, or know the people cooking & have had their food before! My fiance & I also considered heavy hors d'ourves, but now we have voted for a buffet with food we know our families & friends will enjoy! You're a smart woman to play it safe & have some EDIBLE delights! I'm sure your guests will thank you later :)
Ok I TOTALLY agree. Food was sooo important to us. We are having a sit down dinner but we are hand picking everything we want and are givng people lots of choices (4 entrees will be available for everyone, they will be able to have all 4 or 2 or none if they don't like them) Both me and FI are picky eaters so food was important to us. We haven't decided on the menu yet, we will have a tasting in a couple of months to pick what we want.
Big wedding here as well. We are at 200 now as well and FI is constantly adding people.
