Wedding Photography
Photographer Warning!!
If you are getting married in Maryland or PA do not use Vision Quest Studios!! The photographer for our wedding was Crede Calhoun the photos are awful!! The final album we were given looks like my grandmother made it. It is literally a walmart brand photo book with 4 by 7s stuck in the slots!! We paid alot for the photo package and yet there are more photos of our guests then there are of my husband and I. There are no photos of me tossing my bouquet and none of my husband with his family!! The quality of the pictures are horrible we ended up getting better shots from our guests. DO NOT USE VISION QUEST STUDIOS!!!

Wedding Photography
a few more
I'll post more when the professional shots come in. Our actual photographer was absolutely nuts!! We had to keep telling him who to take pictures of and what we wanted he spent most of the night taking pictures of dancing guests instead of important moments, bridal party members or family. Luckily a friend of ours does a bit of photography so he is currently editing the photos he took. he showed us the ones he took of the rehearsal dinner and they were awesome!!

Elopement
I just thought I'd share a few pictures from our elopement last June. We did it the week I was graduating from college so that two of my best friends from RI would be in Chicago visiting. It meant so much to have them there. We went down to the Cook County Courthouse downtown and said our vows. We both almost cried, then Patrick accidentally said "with this wing I dee wed." and we lost it laughing. It was laid back and sweet and the following night we threw a big "graduation" party in our garden. :) It was perfect for us which is great because I get sick to my stomach and really bad anxiety and now I can relax and enjoy our big day because we're already married :)

Do you ever feel like this?
This is a picture of my not so bright cat Camden when he got his tongue stuck to his own collar...three times in a row. I kind of feel the way he looked at that moment, completely and utterly confused. It's only 34 days until the big day and although my mother in law and FH keep insisting everything has been taken care of, I can't help feeling like I'm forgetting something. Music is done, the catering is done, the cake is done, the flowers are done, the photographer is almost done....what am I forgetting? I move to the DC area in just a few weeks and then two weeks later it's wedding time!!! Goodness where did this year go?

Music
Ceremony and First dance done
So I had left my hubby in charge of the music for the ceremony...I checked out the website of the string, flute and piano group he booked and saw that they did a lot of jazzy stuff and a few Cole Porter songs (he's my favorite!). So I was pleased...until I received an email from the lady saying that one of her musicians would be out of town so she would be bringing a recorder ensemble of local towns people to play renaissance dances and baroque songs. So NOT what we wanted!! I flipped, all I could think of was this is my wedding not a renaissance fair and how badly it would clash with the rest of the wedding. Thankfully, I gave her a call and explained what I was looking for. So she is nixing the flute and recorders and coming with her string and piano trio. The music is soooo much better now, when I told one of my best friends about the music choices she immediately said "that is so you."
Pre-wedding music: Jazz (think Sinatra) I'm walking down the aisle to: "More I Cannot Wish You" from Guys and Dolls Recessional: "Night and Day" by Cole Porter First Dance: "It Had to be You" song by my bridesmaid Lauren Yay!! I haz music! |

Mother of the bride attire
Yay mom
This is what my hot mama will be wearing. She is in a wheel chair but is only 47 and recently lost alot of weight so I didn't want a typical mother of the bride dress. I am honestly wicked surprised my wonderful, handicapped, lesbian mother agreed to wear a dress lol. She's my hero :)

48 days!!
Sorry I've been MIA
Well so much has been happening. My hubby (we eloped last June and are having our wedding for our families in June)and I are about to move to the DC area so I have been so focused on job hunting that I have left alot of the wedding details in the hands of my mother in law and husband. I found a great summer position teaching theatre for the Fairfax City Theatre and helping to run the education department of OriginAct Family Theatre. This is what I've done so far:My bridesmaid Lauren is going to sing at the ceremony, she's going to sing "Keeper of the Stars" which is such a beautiful song I'm so going to cry! Here are a few pictures of things for the wedding. I found a great rehearsal dinner dress at target for wicked cheap! It's such a Charlotte from Sex and the City dress, a line seersucker. I also picked up a cute garter that goes with the starfish theme. My sister in law and I made tons of cute mason jar candle holders and a wreath with starfish and seashells made of drift wood for the reception decor. I can't believe it's almost here! We have been legally married for almost 11 months now!!

The Perfect Sandals
Starfish Sandals
As some of you know I love starfish. I have a starfish tattoo on my shoulder blade so we're putting starfish throughout the wedding, on the invitations, the bridesmaid's necklaces and a barrette in my hair. Well back in October my sister found a pair of sandals with starfish on them at a thrift store. She gave them to me for the wedding, they were perfect except that they were three sizes too small. So after months of searching for another pair that was not $98 and juicy couture (they are gorgeous but I just can't justify that much money on a pair of flip flops), I found this pair on Amazon for $16 bucks with shipping...Love it!!
