Ask a Question
Bridal music?
Do you have to change the music when the bride comes it? A friend told me that traditionally there is a music change when the bride comes in but I'm really laid back and I kind of hoped my bridemaid Lauren would sing "More I Cannot Wish You" from Guys and Dolls for the processional and I'd just come down the aisle during the last verse, which I guess if she does the jazz arrangement does have a key change, it's so cute and the last verse is so pretty:

Music I can wish you
Merry music while you're young
And wisdom when your hair has turned to gray.
But More I Cannot Wish You
Than to wish you find your love
Your own true love this day
With a sheeps' eye
And a lickerish tooth
And the strong arms To carry you, away.

Other song ideas:
Father-Daughter Dance: "I Loved Her First" by Heartland
Mother-Son Dance: "Loves Me Like a Rock" by Paul Simon (very Patrick).....apparently not so Patrick's mom lol what about " Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell?

Just have who ever is playing it, fade it out to separate you from them. Gotta have a dramatic pause before you, even if it's small, but it just gives that anticipation! Then they can start it at that verse!

I used Heartland for my dance with my daddy. I cried, he cried, the whole reception cried! It was awesome!!!

traditionally yes, the bride does have to walk into something "different" than the rest of the party. But a different arrangement of the same song is just fine. Its whatever you want to do.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing.

You don't "have" to do anything in any other way than the way you want to do it  : )

Perhaps to signify the importance of the persona about to walk down the aisle, she can make a slight key change upwards in that last verse?

I agree there should be some instrumental break or something before you come down the isle so everyone knows to stand up and turn around to bask in your beauty!!!!!!!!
