Ask a Question
When to start posting on Marketplace?
I just want to know when I should start putting my stuff up on Marketplace that I know I will have leftover from my wedding.
I just think that if I wait until after the wedding it will never get done, and frankly, the stuff is cluttering up our home. lol I get married June 26th. When do you think I should post my stuff?? |

I am no longer having favours that will fit into the boxes. One box is unopened and one is open so I could see how big the boxes actually were. They fit 3 lindt lindor truffles with the wrappers on fine. They come with gren organza ribbon and thank you tags. I paid over $70 and I will sell for $40 plus shipping from Nova Scotia Canada. |

Alas...
My shoes. :)
Here are my shoes. Caparros style "Victor."
Yay! After a lengthy search for green peeptoe pumps with a toe blush, I fell in love with these and had to have them. I bought them from another bride (and I'm using her pics because I don't have the shoes yet...) who was not going to use these shoes because they were too white for her dress!! Yayyyyy!! I have a pair of flats for the reception just in case! |

Wedding Dress
My parents paid for my dress!
So I went to put the final payment on my dress at the store on Friday.
When I got there, there was a note on my file from my mom. It said: "To Allison, The dress has been paid in full. With Love, Your Mum and Dad" I couldn't believe it! They had already paid $700 for this AND bought my veil, which was $100. Of course I was so shocked. I called them and thanked them profusely. They just wanted me to be surprised. Thank God! |

Ask a Question
How did you meet??
So I have been meaning to ask this for a while...
How did you and your FH meet? I love hearing love stories. So post a comment below, or make a new post with your story. How Mike and I met: Mike and I were introduced to each other through mutual friends when I was 16 and he was 20. But, we never hung out or anything. The most we would say to each other is maybe "Hi." So Mike moved away at age 21 for 6 months to work in Alberta and I didn't really think of him again. Although I always knew I thought he was good looking. Fast forward - - - I had my daughter when I was 18 and 2 years later I finished a youth leadership program for troubled youth (I wasn't troubled, but I was in a high risk category because I was a teen mother with no college or Universtiy Education) where I assisted a gym teacher at a middle level school. When my program was over I got a huge tax break and decided to go visit my friend in Germany for 3 weeks. While I was there I had a great time. But towards the end of my trip I started to feel lonely because I hadn't dated in a long long long time. There was only 1 relationship with a guy that lasted maybe a month the entire 2 years since my daughters birth. No dates even. While in Germany I had a dream.... (Just recently my pastor had died and we were very close. He was like a second father figure to me. I didn't attend his funeral because I wouldn't let myself believe that he was dead. So on top of being lonely I was also feeling guilty for not having a final goodbye to the pastor.) In this I dream I was at my church and the lights were dim. I could hear people murmuring out in the vestry, but I didn't turn to see them. So, I was all alone in the pews. When I looked down at my arms I was holding a gold pillar candle. While I was staring at this candle I saw the pastor's face and he said. "Everything is going to be alright." I felt very refreshed the next day and I enjoyed the rest of my trip. Once I got home I went out clubbing the next weekend with my sister and her friend. The next morning my sister and her friend and I decided to go for a drive and see if there was a place her friend could go to get her tires changed (it was Sunday, so it would be hard to find anywhere.) We went all over creation. We went from once town to the next and then back and then remembered we forgot one place and we went back there. Yay! They were open! It was my best friend's parents garage and they would change the tires. It was taking FOREVER for them to do it though because the tires were stuck on the rims and they had to pry them off. So I sat in the convenience store area and read the papers. While I was there I realized how rude people were being to the cashier. I decided to count how many people would say "Thank You." Well...the first person to say Thank you made me raise my head. It was Mike! He didn't see me because I was reading the newspaper! As I watched him get in his truck...something came over me and I ran outside and started banging on his window. He looked a little shocked at first. So I waved and he started to pull away. (I thought he was leaving and I had just made an ass of myself.) I started to go back inside, then I realized that he didn't leave, he just pulled around the building to make room at the gas pumps. So I went over and talked to him. While we were talking I gave him my number. And he called me two weeks later. :) Funny thing... Mike was on his way fishing that day, by himself...which he rarely does. He was just bored and wanted something to do. HE NEVER goes to that garage because his stepfather works at one just down the road that he frequents instead, but he didn't realize he needed gas until he had already passed it, so he stopped at my friend's garage. Also...our Mothers were friends in high school. |

Wedding Reception
Linens~
I went to a bridal show the other day and I'm soooo glad I went!
Vendor #1 - My first choice was to get white resin chairs...which were going to be $4.50 + tax each. I managed to haggle them down to $4 +tax each. Then they told me their chair covers were on special for $3 + tax each. I was pretty much sold on that. Until... Vendor #2 - SATIN SELF TYING CHAIR COVERS for $2.75, napkins for $.50 each and 136" round tablecloths for $12 each. AND GUESS WHAT.....NO TAX! w00t! I booked them right away. Pretty much the same price I was going to pay for 120 of the white resin folding chair is the entire price of all my linens from vendor #2. I'm so happy! I chose turquoise napkins because my runners are green and I wanted the turquoise theme to be there somehow. Yay! |
