Ask a Question
Who calculated their wedding date around their menstruation ?! !?

I haven't had to keep up with my cycle in YEARS ! ...but My Love actually brought this up last night !? I don't keep up with it because we're celibate !

I Googled "how to calculate your menstruation" and this is what I got:

You should count from the first day of bleeding. That is day 1. Ovulation occurs around day 14 and the next period usually comes along around day 28.

Well, according to my calculations based on the above formula, I will be due again for my cycle the Monday after my wedding ! This is too damn close ! UGH ! However it does explain my Devil Level moment last week over the shoes, which I still stand firm on and sent her some pics of shoes and she "fell in love" all over again with 2 pair...lol

I will be totally pissed if I start early ...I better start praying..

Yeah mine is usually around the same time every month.. and no later... If it is on I dont know what I'm going to do... MY HONEY has talked about getting me pregnant a month or two before the wedding but I really dont think thats a good idea... Being pregnant and the stress from planning a wedding is not a good idea... Have you ever thought about birth control? I heard the DEPO shot stops periods completely and you only get the shot every three months. Have you guys talked about kids?

I'm on the pill so I checked to make sure to work around it but I had to also work around my schedule and my FH's which was a challenge. If you're planning on using birth control you might want to consider the pill or something similar so that you'll know.

The only problem with calculating when you'll be on your period is that sometimes stress can affect your menstrual cycle and a lot of women don't have regular cycles in general.

Luckily getting pregnant is NOT my concern. I mean it would have to be immaculate conception because I had a tubal ligation 13 years ago
We don't want anymore kids..ours range in age from 22-13..we have 5 total, but none together.
My concern is consummating our marriage. We are not sexually active and look forward to our special night.

LOL - I did the opposite (sort of) for our honeymoon...redirected my period, I guess you could say.

Since we did a cruise and would be in the Caribbean for a week the last thing I wanted to drag along was a bunch of tampons! I ended up skipping 2 months prior to, of the sugar pills on my BC and went straight to the next pack so I would have it before vacation. Mission accomplished and everything was fine when I took the week off afterwards...nothing was any different.

OKAY-- I have to say-- the DEPO shot is NOT so wonderful as you think-- You need to google "Complaints about depo shot" and read up on all the BAD side effects that come along with it! There are a TON of women who say "I wish I had NEVER gotten that shot!"
You need to arm yourself with the facts before you make that decision!
Also, it DOES NOT stop periods for everyone. It actually made my period last for 4 weeks straight -- I called my Dr to complain and she said that is "NOT uncommon"-- which means it happens alot!
I am getting on the pill this week.  =)

Girl, I blogged about this too last year. LOL  Our original anniversary is May 1st and our wedding and reception was scheduled for that last year. I was in the clear of our wedding day, because I usually come on around the 22nd of the month.  Low and behold, we had to change our venue date to the 23rd of the month!!!!  Aughhhh!  I was hoping that I was in the clear of being stressed so much that it would delay it?  YEA, RIGHT!!!! AUNT FLO CAME THE DAY BEFORE OUR WEDDING!!!  WTF????  She came with a heavy flow too and came early!   It wasn't nice, LOL. I had my close friend assist me that day with helping me in and out of the dress for sanitary changes in between each couple of hours. It was not nice. I kept clean though.  There is nothing that we can do about mother nature, not unless you are taking brithcontrol or depro shots. Luckily this was our third wedding and it was ok, but still. Aunt flo is nasty!!!

I'm on the pill and the date was definitely scheduled around my period, birthdays, and holidays which is why it was so frustrating when we changed our date! I'm just lucky mine will be almost 2weeks after the wedding!

I realized soon after setting our wedding date that we set it on about the day I should start!
But I read that you can take your birth control a certain way that will allow you to skip it or shift the date but to only do it the one time or if you really need to. I don't currently take birth control but I will be and I'm hoping this works because I would die if I started on our wedding day! Or even within the week after, bleh!

if things keep going the way they are going...i will get my period right on my wedding day.  Really, this is not even a joke.  I think i'm gonna go on the pill to try and fix it so that does not happen. ?? not really sure what else to do. White dress and red are NOT a good combo, if you know what i mean

i have control over that. I will just take birth control back to back. EASY. I refuse to change a tampon with a big poofy white dress

Just to warn some of you who plan on taking the pill packs back to back skipping the blanks. If you do this you could experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting. This can also happen within the first 3 months of starting the pill too.

It can be really light or a little heavier like a normal period.

Well Ladies, like I said...I will be praying that Mother Nature waits until that Monday or after and doesn't decide to come early. I called my Gynecologist and they said they have a pill or a shot I can take, so I am considering that, otherwise, I will know a more exact time after my cycle next month since Feb is a short month.

OMG, this is a big one for me, haha. It was one of the first things I thought of when he proposed. lol.

For one thing, I am VERY sensitive to my cycle so I can tell pretty much each day or so where I am in the cycle. This is good, but also means that I was really detailed thinking I didn't want to be moody during the wedding or that time and I didn't want to be ON my . which would give me pretty much a 2 week window for safety. I WAS going to go on the pill but after research and talking to my FH we decided not to go that route so a few months to go I realize it really DOES Matter! We're celibate, too and I wanted to make sure NOTHING would interfere with our wedding night plans, lol.

Luckily it looks like the wedding should land RIGHT after mine. This is inconvenient for other reasons but I'm definitely hoping things stick to the plan, haha.

I definitely planned my wedding around my cycle!!..that's the reason why my date was changed from April 17th to the 23rd...I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because I have a very regular cycle..it comes every 21 days and lasts for 5 days.  No amount of stress has thrown it off track.

On the pill, it is easy to call off the period for a few weeks.  Just skip the blanks and continue to take the active pills..I've done this for a cruise we took to the Caribbean before.  There was NO WAY I was not going to have fun in a bathing suit on that vacation!!! :)
