Homemade Wedding Cakes

I've wanted to post a picture of my wedding cake, but I can't get the picture to upload. I went on a hunt to find something similar and did find something finally!

So my wedding cake..I want it to look like my grandmother or aunt made it. Very simple, nothing fancy. I also decided to do a total of three cakes, different flavors.

Our wedding cake will be 3 layers of white butter cream with a little hint of almond.
Another recipe will be what my grandmother calls the 22-minute chocolate cake. You can find the recipe on the back of the hershey's cocoa can.
I haven't decided on the third cake. Maybe Strawberry?

mmm, I love this idea.
That first one looks like the martha stewart coconut layer cake, which is making me hungry! haha

I love the look of all the cakes on different stands....
     I realy want a wedding cake, its one of my "Must Haves" I have compromized on everything else but the prices are crazy!
     So the many cake Idea came in second....
 Or a friend has take all the Wilton classes Except wedding cakes so Im thinking of offering to pay for her todo it in exchage for do our cake.

those look so good. what about carrot cake as the 3rd? it's delicious and has that homemade vibe you're kinda going for.

love the idea of having your cake feel more homemade. I do like a good strawberry cake and its a flavor that seems to please most.  Good luck!
