Fancy Shmancy Blogs!
How to "spruce up" your blog!

First of all....I owe this post to kjk2009's post (pink). I just wanted to re-post it because I think soooo many people want to learn how to do this and sometimes it's easy to miss a post here and there...especially if you're on a certain color or bride watch.

So....this is a re-post! Hope it helps all you ladies spice up your blogs. It's fun to make them all fancy and stand out!

(and thanks again, kjk2009) :)

Creating a Playlist – www.playlist.com As soon as you bring up the site you will be able to sign up {free} and beginning searching for songs to add. It’s as simple as typing your song in the search area and clicking ‘add to playlist’ from the results. Then on the homepage, click to add playlist to blog. It will give you the code which you then paste anywhere in your blog.

Creating an Inspiration Board - http://www.bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php Choose a template, upload pictures from your computer or use web addresses of pictures you like, paste into the picture spots available (very self explanatory on site), click create and its all done for you!

Creating a Slideshow - www.slide.com Click on create a slideshow, upload photos from your computer as instructed, customize your design and create! Simple and easy to figure out as well {hopefully!}.

Adding Pictures, Borders, Glitters Etc - www.photobucket.com Simply browse the pictures or create an account and upload your own and then copy the URL provided on the picture (just search around the page) into your one of your blogs and it will show up!

Adding a Ticker or Countdown - There are many sites that create tickers that the URL code can be copy and pasted onto your blog. Some popular sites are www.tickerfactory.com, www.tickercentral.com, www.whenismywedding.com, and www.theweddingticker.com. There are many more that can be found by googling ‘wedding ticker’ or just ‘tickers’.

Adding a Background - You can add a background to your site by visiting http://www.cherrybam.com/cutebackgrounds.php , or many other sites available by googling ‘blog backgrounds’. You simply copy the code given to you and then paste into one of your blogs (a suggestion was given by dd977chic to put it in your first blog so it can always be located) and it will show up!

If you want to create a background out of a picture saved on your computer or of a picture you found on a website use this code (created by my amazing fiance Karl during my frustation of not being able to figure out how to do it! lol) (post it in the same place youd post a regular background code, your first blog) -

< style type="text/css">body {background-image: url(INSERT WEBSITE LINK HERE);} < / style > (without the spaces)

If it is a picture on your computer, make sure it is saved as a GIF (can be done by opening in photoshop and saving as a GIF) and then upload to a photosharing site such as Photobucket and copy the picture link into the INSERT WEBSITE LINK HERE space. If you cant figure it out (it was hard to post the code without it actually activating, so I had to put spaces so its kind of confusing) send me your picture you'd like as a background and I'll create the code for you.

Adding Colored Lettering to Your Blog – This one was completely explained to me by and courtesy of GRATEFULBRIDE {thanks!!}.

To get the colored lettering, place the code < FONT color="' > (without the spaces) in the beginning of your entry and then place the code < /FONT > (again without the spaces) at the end of your paragraph. In between the "" on the beginning code you place what is called an html color code in it. You can google sites that give this code by typing "html color codes" for a variety of choices.

Here are a few color code sites -
http://html-color-codes.com/
http://www.quackit.com/html/html_color_codes.cfm

Adjusting the Size of Your Lettering – Similar to adding color, you simple insert the code < font size="" > (without the spaces before 'f' and after the quotations) into the beginning of your blog. Adjust the number in between the two quotation marks as you desire from 1 - 7. Add < /font > (again, without the spaces) where you want the font size to end (ex. – end of paragraph). Visit http://www.ironspider.ca/format_text/fontsize.htm to see text sizes.

(Instructions taken from -http://www.ironspider.ca/format_text/fontsize.htm)

Adjusting the Font of Your Lettering – Same idea as adding coloring and adjusting the size, insert this code into the beginning of your paragraph < FONT face="Font Name" > (without the spaces) and this code at the end of where you want the font to end < /FONT > (without the spaces). Any font that you have on your computer can be used so simply insert the name of the font where is says font name. Some examples of fonts are Times New Roman, Arial, Comic Sans etc.

Bold/Italics/Underlining – Insert the following codes (depending on desired effect) before the code you want to bold.

Bold - < b > (without the spaces) Add < / b > where you want the bold to end.
Italics - < i > (without the spaces) Add < / i > where you want the italics to end.
Underline - < u > (without the spaces) Add < / u > where you want the underlining to end.
