"THE HITCHED BITCH"
Launching my new BLOG! Please check it out :)
Okay fellow Brides!
I'm not a "bride" anymore... :( I'm HITCHED & loving it, but I do miss the blogging world! So, I've decided to start my own personal blog (don't worry, I'm not deleting this one). I was hoping my beautiful brides would support me in my venture and take a peek. Possibly even "follow me" on there :) I would love it. I can't wait to share all my adventures, thoughts, advice and crazy stories with all of you! It's so fun...I get to explore a whole other side to myself and so far I'm loving every minute. I only have a few posts so far but there are MANY more to come. I've always wanted to do this and now I finally am. My friends always tell me I could write a book with all my crazy tales so I figure a blog is a good start. If people like me, then who knows what could happen! Please take a moment and let me know what you think! Also...I asked a question at the bottom of the post titled "The One". I would absolutely LOVE some feedback on that. I shared my bizarre story on how I knew he was the one for me...I'm curious... how did YOU know? Thanks so much!!! www.thehitchedbitch.blogspot.com |

ADVICE from a MRS!
My Biggest Pieces of Advice for your DAY!
Heyyyy BRIDES!
I've been meaning to come on here for a long time and let you know my biggest pieces of advice for the most special day in your lives :) 1. Take 10 minutes every hour at the reception to take it all in with your man. Go for a walk, sit down alone and just look around you. It's so special and makes the day slow down a little. 2. Have food in your wedding suite....you'll be HUNGRY before bed! 3. Dress shopping: Sometimes it's easier to bring LESS people to this event. Better yet: people that have been married before. Girls who haven't been married yet always comment on what THEY like or don't like about the dress and are likely to possibly talk you out of the one YOUR in love with. Unless you have a very trusted best friend or family member who you know is looking out for YOUR best interest! It's your day :) 4. TRY D.I.Y (DO IT YOURSELF)....It might seem overwhelming but...it can be a LOT of fun. 5. Don't be afraid to delegate duties... 6. Make sure to have a good photographer. YES, it's expensive but it's your memories from your favorite day. It ends up being the least expensive thing you spend your money on. It's spread out for the rest of your lives together...you keep those pictures forever. The cake...you see it once....all your left with is a photo! :) 7. Wear a little heel! Unless you're getting married on the beach...a heel is a wonderful thing. You walk more "lady like". Try it out in your dress...you'll notice a difference from a flat and a kitten heel. 8. BUY FLIP FLOPS...for you and your bridesmaids. You'll be very happy about this! I bought flip flops for $1.50 from Michaels for all of my bridesmaids and surprised them with them at the reception. I had the venue put them on their chairs. 9. CHOOSE A GOOD HAIRDRESSER and VERIFY the appointment a week in advance. We had troubles with this......they had the times wrong, short staffed/....awful. It all worked out okay in the end :) 10. Choose a wedding party that will HELP, not stress you out :) BIGGEST TIP.... TRULY ENJOY EVERY SINGLE SECOND.... |

LOSING WEIGHT.
Are YOU trying to lose weight for the big day?
Ok....Brides!!!!! and newlywedded wives!!!! :)
I am starting my own little test for the BEST absolute way to get your body the way you want it. I was in phenomenal shape for my wedding day....no jiggle, muffin tops, etc.....I worked my butt off...and I stand by my method...Jillian Michaels "30 Day Shred" DVD. However....it took me from Dec-June to get the results I wanted. So....I am trying something else. People swear by this so I am putting it to the test. P90X. It's supposed to be guaranteed results within 90 days...I am starting the day after tomorrow. You can follow my progress/tips/ideas on my blog. www.stacey.tendaydesign.com I will TRY my hardest to prove that this works and to give all you panicking brides hope to feel your best on you big day! And all you already-wifey's that we can still be hot when we're married!!!! EVERYONE keeps telling me that you gain at least a pound every year after marriage....well, I refuse to be a statistic!!!! :) follow along, comment, ask questions etc..... Love! |

THEY STOLE OUR WEDDING DATE.
Do we go to their wedding...or not?
Ok, so here's situation.
My Hubby is friends with a guy that he worked with for years and now they play hockey together (never hang out other than that.). Him and his Fiance came to our wedding.... Before our wedding they were planning on having a destination wedding in May next year. Since our wedding was so much fun (with everyone there) they decided they wanted to have a more localized one as well so more people could come. fine. BUT they chose the EXACT same day as us!!!!!!!! I don't want to go!!! We had plans to go back to the resort we got married at, eat our wedding cake, enjoy eachother, look back...and celebrate! my Husband says "It's ok, we don't have to go to their wedding, it's up to you".....but I don't want him to regret not going...and I don't want to be the reason we don't go if he does end up regretting it. It wouldn't be a big deal but the bride to be hates us in the first place. She made it clear that we wouldnt be invited to the "destination wedding" but now we are invited to their local one. The rest of the hockey buddies even said to the groom "what? that's lame...why would you take the same day?". They don't seem to care though. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? The resort they're getting married at only has 12 rooms so I need to decide fast as they're almost all booked. What do you think??? |

Wedding Flowers
Have a toss-bouquet!
Another recommendation....
Every wedding I've been to (including mine) the bouquets turn out SO beautiful, you don't want to throw it away. Talk to your florist for an inexpensive toss-bouquet. I think ours cost about $20.00....I just asked for a couple of bundles of hydrangeas. I had our venue keep it in water until we needed it. Some brides like to keep their bouquets....I didn't. I just didn't want to throw mine...it was waaaay too pretty (plus I had photos in it of my two late Grandpas). Anyway, just another suggestion! :) |

WARNING about Hydrangeas!
Are you having hydrangeas?
Just a warning for any bride out there that is having hydrangeas in their bouquets .... they wilt pretty quick. They were wilting before the reception (during the photos!). BUT good news....if you put them in water again, they totally revive!
Don't get me wrong...I LOVE them, and I am so happy we had them. They turned out perfectly...and I wouldn't change a thing. I just recommend leaving them in their water for as long as you can before the wedding and then having vases with a little water in them on the head table. Your girls can put them in their and they'll not only make a good decoration, they'll live! :) <-- these were my bridesmaids by the end of the night. After my Mom put them in water and they were PERFECT the next morning, lol. |

Pregnancy Disagreements!
He says 5... I say 2... years.
Ladies,
Just curious..... are any of you having time-frame disagreements as far as when to start having kids? I imagine that 2 year (approx) is enough time to start....I'd be 26, almost 27....he'd be 30-31. I think that's a good age to start...I don't want to be an old mom. No offence to anyone that starts later....I just have always wanted to have kids early. He is VERY adamant about waiting 5 years. I'd be 29-30 and he'd be 33-34...... I don't want to wait that long AT ALL. Do you think it's anything to worry about? Should I just see what happens with time or bring it up now?? I'm not too worried about it, but just curious if anyone has gone through anything similar and what was the outcome?! I mean, let's face it....we all have clocks that are ticking! we want 2 kids and I don't want to have them closer than 2 years apart.... So 26 and 28 would work perfectly! |
