Hello Ladies!
I'm getting more excited each day! Lots of fun things happening each day as the big day draws near.
Yesterday, we unexpectedly booked our honeymoon!
I say unexpected because we were not planning on booking the honeymoon flight and hotel until a month before the wedding to be sure we knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do.
My FH and I are both still kids at heart and play. We love the water, warm weather, pampering, and activities that are active, interactive, and fun. The idea was to go somewhere that offered all of that. Florida was the first place we thought of.
We both always wanted to go to Disney World because he and I had never been as kids. Particularly, The Magic Kingdom. We had been to Universal. I had even been to MGM, when it was called that. But never to The Magic Kingdom: The Real Disney World.
FHubby and I looked at travel packages and pricing for hotels, transportation, and flights. Deals were good for the time we are taking our honeymoon in mid August. They ran from about $1200 to about $2000. We were happy with that so the plan was to book the honeymoon in early July.
Well...
I never truly appreciated signing up for newsletters and alerts until last night.
I was checking my email last night while bored and came across this one day only sale on flights and 4 star hotels in Orlando. Travelocity randomly pops up with special one day only deals out of nowhere. There is never a warning or anything. They will just pick a day, any day, and throw a deal in your face.
I knew that we weren't planning on getting the honeymoon until July, but I was curious to see the deal. Thinking that it would only be a difference of about $100 I just took a look at the site. Typed in the dates, specifics of the kind of 4 star hotel we were looking for, the area, and pressed submit.
I could not believe what I was seeing. Four star hotels with everything we wanted right in the heart of Orlando and near Disney World with full four star amenities, spa, transportation, restaurants, and park deals right there! For not just a difference in $100 less than what we were going to be paying for...try about $600 - $850 less than what we thought we were going to be paying! Let's just say for both of us put together the total price was just under $1000.
One day only sale?
Needless to say, we booked it! Would have been silly not to. I checked again a few hours later and the prices were right back up to the prices we had originally saw them for. Wow just in the nick of time.
