Continuing the story of how the day went last Saturday...
After I left the groomsmen fitting, I went home alone and continued with the wedding planning.
I knew that I was going to be hanging out with the girls later while my FH hung out with his friends and celebrated. I even had an idea that the girls may be throwing me a bridal shower.
It was supposed to be a surprise, but a co-worker who had received an invitation accidentally mentioned it to me. The thing is, my MOH did not include on the invitation that this was supposed to be a surprise party.
So I worked on my surprise face, just so that no one's feelings would be hurt. When I did arrive at the party I was genuinely surprised to see how many people had showed up. And it wasn't just the girls, 2 of the girls' husbands came too. I was a little irate with one of the girls bringing her husband. I don't really get along with this guy. He is kind of a party damper, but I tried to just ignore the fact that he was there and just have a good time.
MOH did such a great job with the catering: Sonny's Bar B Que. We played games and sang some songs. I had a lot of cards and gifts. There were a lot of gift cards, but someone did get me sexy lingerie hehe I was a little embarrassed when they wanted me to show them off. I let my MOH hold them up and show everyone.
My mother was there. That was nice. Mother found a way to embarrass me too, by telling stories to everyone about her experiences with me growing up. She was a very young mother, so we pretty much grew up together. LOL They had a good laugh off of those stories.
All in all it was a very nice shower. I wish we had taken photos. But no one had a camera on them that would take nice pictures. My cell phone takes such crappy photos, so I did not even bother. It's a good memory though. I look forward to more events leading up to the wedding.
