Happy Friday Lovelies!
Today has been a good day of preparations and planning for the wedding.
Started the day with a little Hairapy at the hair salon and spa.
Then, me and one of my awesome bridesmaids went out to find some good deals for the wedding. There is a SUPER Dollar Tree store that just opened around the corner from the salon.
That store has just about everything in there. I was so excited when we went in the store. Just about everything that's on the website is inside of the store. We saw the nicest table cloths with lace around the edges. They even had the candles with the LED lights (no flame) that I wanted to keep on the tables at the reception. We also found the roses we want to use to make our bouquets at the bridal bouquet crafting party in July. I'm definitely going back there in a few weeks.
The best thing that happened today was that I found a great tailor, named Mrs. Maria, who does the best alterations in the area that we live in. She was such a nice woman. She has been in business for over 20 years and is a grandmother. So she was really sweet and we just felt so welcomed when we stepped into her dress shop.
Mrs. Maria is a family woman so she loves weddings. She owns a dress shop and sells bridal gowns at her shop. I did call other places before we met Mrs. Maria at her dress shop. The other places were ridiculous with high prices for wedding gowns. Which I can understand because of all of the layers of fabric and having to cut through silk and satin without ruining it. It is very tedious.
We negotiated the prices together. Where other places told me that it would be about $150 to over $200 to hem, sew, add shoulder straps, steam, clean, and press a wedding dress and $80 - $100 for a bridesmaid gown, Mrs. Maria said that she would give us a special discount for the whole bridal party.
I would pay $80 for hemming, sewing, adding shoulder straps, press, steam and clean. And my bridesmaids will pay $45 for the same. Pay half when we drop the dresses off and pay the other half after the final fitting when we pick the dress up. And the turn around is only a week to two weeks without putting a rush on it. Which would have been extra. But we don't need to rush as the wedding is in 60 days.
I quickly called and emailed all of my bridesmaids. So far 2 have jumped on the deal.
Yes, it has been a very nice Friday so far.
Later...a date with the FHubby. :)))))
hoitytoitygaudybride27 that was lucky for real. We went to her on a whim. I will slide you that info through an email for sure. Please be sure to let Mrs. Maria know that Felicia sent you.
phillysgirl5 it that is so awesome that you had a personal recommendation to cut you a great deal too! I'm so glad that you were able to make that work out. And yes, I can't wait until our date tonight. He's so much fun lol Thank you and you have a great weekend as well.
Otaku thank you! It definitely was productive!
lynnie11276 wow that is a lot. I would find my own ribbon too. I don't blame you. Good luck with your alterations.
