He PROPOSED!!!

The Friday before my birthday, a friend who happens to be my assistant planned a birthday surprise in my classroom including my students and parents. As I was forced to leave my classroom to assist another coworker, I found out later, everyone was getting into place. As I grew tired of waiting for my coworker to come back from the restroom or somewhere she claimed she had to go once I got to her office, I decided to leave but was quickly stopped in my tracks and told to wait for her by the secretary. I sat down a little longer and then my coworker came into her office and told me to come and walk back to my class with her. As we walked down the hall, she began to ask me questions about my birthday plans for the weekend. I thought this was strange because she had asked me the same questions earlier...but... hey... I just went with the flow. As I approached the classroom...I noticed darkness! I opened the door and the Jessalyn Joshua is the daughter of Jesse Gates and Antoinette Ruth Gates. Jessalyn was born in Houston Texas. At the tender age of 8 Jessalyn moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she graduated from Dillard University in Louisiana with a Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also attended graduate school at Xavier University in Louisiana in Reading Specialty and is also a Certified Louisiana State Teacher Assessor and Mentor. She is a proud member of Eta Phi Beta Sorority Omicron Chapter. Jessalyn has been teaching for 14 years and is currently teaching for Durham Public Schools in North Carolina.

My friend(assistant) then said there was another surprise and out my office comes my boyfriend! I knew for sure...this was it! He would POP the Question....NO QUESTION! lol But, however, it was a Surprise he was there! LOL

After the birthday surprise that day at work...another celebration had already been planned by me for myself and a group of friends for a birthday dinner @ Twisted Fork. I had planned to celebrate my birthday the entire weekend. So, as we celebrated my birthday and as the night went on with great conversation, food and drinks, I knew for sure...The QUESTION was coming! I mean,a great setting....friends...Perfect!! NOPE!

Ok, so two celebrations under my belt for my birthday weekend and still no QUESTION!
SoOO, Saturday morning...As I prepared to go to a funeral...take one of the kids to a birthday party....and prepare for yet, another friend's wedding....I was still hopeful.
That night...After such a busy day, my boyfriend had planned a quiet dinner for just the two of us and then...he also planned an over night stay at a nice hotel. This....I knew was when the QUESTION was going to be asked(maybe). Maybe proposing in front of people was too much for him so he wanted to do it with just the two of us! Guess What? NOPE! Still.... NO Proposal!

Soooo, a few weeks before my birthday my aunt told me that she would cook dinner for me for my birthday. (She does it every year)
I told her that I wanted her to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for me(yes in October). She did. It was great and my boyfriend and close friends graced me with there presence. I knew this would be it because...my birthday weekend was ending. After all, this was the Sunday before my birthday! :(

Long story shortened....My birthday was the Oct. 11th and still, NO Ring! My feathers had fallen. At this point...I realized that it was not going to happen in ...2010! :(

A full week after my birthday...we decided to go out to dinner after work! (which we rarely go out during the week) We met at a central location only to decide we didnt want to eat at that particular restaurant. Next stop, a nice little restaurant we both like on the other side of town! We chatted...ate...and left! Once we got back to our cars...I began to walk to my car and at that moment he said not to get in..he wanted to tell me something before I left to go home....I was cold so I insisted that we talk in the car... To My Surprise...As we entered the car...my sweetie...began saying something...but stuttering...I was unable to understand or hear what he was saying. Yes, he was nervous!(I'm sure he would say he wasnt) Next thing I noticed...was the prettiest white and gold box I HAVE EVER SEEN!! And the MOST BEAUTIFUL Ring EVER!
On that Night...October 19, 2010...Mike Asked Me to PROMISE to BE HIS WiFe for the REST Of Our LIVES! ***Sigh***
