Finally found some cute stuff!
I decided to go to TJ Maxx by my house while I was going to the store & after having the hardest time finding damask stuff lately I actually came across some great stuff!
They had these really cute damask & pink boxes for 6.99 & 7.99 There was only one small one so I decided to get the bigger one for a dollar more. I think I'm going to use them as the bathroom baskets. The smaller one for the guys. I figured I'd leave them open & put a sign on the inside of the lid. I also found these picture frames for $5 & this super cute address book for $3 for moi =] Then I went to the dollar store & found out these votive holders were only $6 when they were marked as $12 so I got 4 of them. I figured they could go on the bar or on a couple tables. & thanks to the $50 gift card curtesy of T-Mobile I really didn't have to spend a thing! Thank you T-Mobile lol |

DIY Wedding
Finished my 1st DIY project!
I'm so proud of myself for finishing & NOT screwing up my letters!
They came out better than I imagined. I spray painted them black with 2 coats of paint. & since they were card board they dried really fast so I got these done in 2 days! I stamped them with silver ink & you can't really tell in the picture but I put rhinestone embelishments on the designs where there were circles. I got some in large, medium & small. They turned out to be the perfect sizes too. Who knew! The last thing I really have left to do is spray then with a gloss & they're absolutely done! That will have to wait till this weekend cause our siding guys get dust & junk all over our deck, & those are the only days they don't work! So now that I know I'm not completely craft retarded I'm going to try to make our engagement pary invitations. We're doing a bbq down at our local park for our families & wedding party. Just reserved the gazebo today! So to be summery but still somewhat in our color scheme the invites are fushia but the envelopes are pool blue to keep it fun.I aslo bought some vellum paper to put the text on for the inside of the card. I'm thinking of finding a picture of us, putting it in black & white then print it out with the words "She Said Yes!" for the cover, then get some sort of stamp pattern & emboss it on the inside that will go kinda under the vellum paper. With either a silver or similar pool blue color. What do you think? Any ideas or pointers? |

Venue Choice
And the winner is....
Venue #2!
It was so tough but we just had to go with the one that just felt right & more like us. It's so much more open, she'll let us put up extra tents if we choose, we can choose our own catering & music without getting charged for it! The thought of all the extra little charges with the 1st place was really weighing on my mind & this way we have more control as a couple for what we want or don't want. We can use the cute old fashioned chapel or the beautiful outside gazebo. An outside reception or inside. There's so many choices. She's even putting in horse shoe pits to play horse shoe, that will be great for people to have something to do & probably make some great photo ops! I think our friends & family are really gonna love this place. Plus the owner is so nice, I ask her questions & she gives me loads of helpful information. Unlike the other place where I kinda felt like I was in at some awkward job interview. I'm so so sooo excited now! =) & I haven't been able to start my DIY project yet cause the siding guys have thier crap all over my deck. I can't wait till they're gone! |

Ect.. Ect... Ect...
2nd Venue Tour & such
We took the tour of our 2nd venue today. The owner was so nice & it was just so comfortable there I could of stayed there all day. She even said if we just wanted to hang out we were more than welcome to. There is a gazibo & a church for an indoor or outdoor ceremony. The place has an awesome view & it's sooo cute! We have a tough decision to make a head of us. They're both outside gardens with tented patios for the reception. Which was our ideal.
One has pros that the other one has cons to & vise versa so it's really a tough one. We really like both options & not only to make it harder we're going to check out one more place. This one being more downtown Seattle at a cuise place. We can use the dock as the ceremony & the upper dinning resturant for a reception or we can select a yacht for the ceremony & take a tour of the water ways as a reception. Which could be very cool. This stuff is really racking my brain! Other than that we found our invitations & my first DIY project, Yay! The invitations are a damask impressed into the corners & you can't tell but the paper is a shimmery opal color & there's a very small impressed damask design top middle of the inside.. I love them & can't wait to order 'em! I also made a trip to Paper Source & got these letters for our guest book table. I'm going to spray paint them black, then stamp them with a silver damask design. I'm eager but nervous to do these. I'm going to try it on paper first so I get them right! (not crafty mind you!) Today I'm hoping we tackle the guest list & get a number on lock down. One less thing to rack my brain lol |

A Toast
Flutes
The other day my mother & I were out trying to get some crafty ideas. Mind you I am craftually challenged so I'm totally relying on other experts & my own hit or misses! Wish me luck!
Taking a break from craft ideas I decided we should stop by the Things Remembered store cause I saw some really pretty toasting flutes that were $40 on thier website. My mother the sweetheart she is bought me the flutes. When I got home to eagerly show my fiance the flutes I was so proud of I was quickly denied after unwrapping one of them. They were the wrong flutes! So yesterday I had to grab my mom to get the right ones since it was on her card. Come to find out the 3 sets of these flutes they had displayed were the only ones left. I think they're discontinued or something. Cause of this, they were half off so we actually got them for $21! Score! It just goes to show that it pays to just take your stuff back asap when you don't have the right stuff! I'm gonna be taking them back in the future to get them engraved. I'll try to post a picture later. It's uploading it funky, bah. |

The Proposal
1 month down... 16 more to go...
My fiance Jair us proposed to me on Friday March 13th during a surprise 30th birthday he threw me. Right after the "Happy Birthday" was sung he dropped down on one knee in front of all our friends & family. I obviously said yes! I was a very spoiled girl that weekend & I loved every minute of it! We've been together for 2 1/2 years. Believe it or not we met off of myspace & though we both lived in the same town, went to the same schools & knew some of the same people, we never met till then... It seems funny to me now that little did I know that kid playing basketball with my neighbor in my tiny cul de sac would some day be my future husband/best friend.
We just checked out our first venue... & I totally love it. I was ready to sign the contract & put down the deposit right then & there. But it being the first place we looked at I kept that in mind for finding the perfect place. We want somewhere that we can do the ceremony & reception in the same place yet has a seperate area for each one. A 2 for 1 if you will. Also since we live in a rainy state we are unfortunatly picking the most popluar months of summer to garuntee the chances of sun incase of an outdoor ceremony or reception. We're checking out option #2 next weekend. Our guest list isn't finalized just yet but we do have a general list & a guestimation of guests of 150 max. I've changed my colors a few times but I think the damask is just more me than any of the options I've considered. My ceremony was the one thing I knew right off the bat would be all white with calla lily's & maybe a little stephanotis. The first thing I've bought is the cake topper... I fell in love with it the moment I saw it & had to get it. You can get it on sale for $17.99 right now at christianbook.com. Such a great deal compaired to the $30 I was seeing it for else where. It's a great modern item for such a classic & romantic moment. I litteraly got teary-eyed when I got it in the mail lol! All & all, I'm just hoping that this adventure will be one to remember fondly forever & to not become one of those bridzilla's I keep watching on WEtv! |
